To all Aces High Community:
This is the first major thrust of new player initiative by the Community for the Community. I am asking for as many of you out there to take a few minutes each week to post this message in all forms of social media.
Hello to those reading this. I am searching for individuals who are actively involved in internet gameplay.
The game is a WW2 combat flight simulator called Aces High. You can check it out at hitechcreations.com. It is a 15 year old game with hundreds of players active during an 24 hour time frame but more active during the US evening time.
The game is free to download. All the basic hardware is a mouse, keypad, flight control stick, and headset with microphone.

You don't have to be a current pilot or former pilot to fly WW2 aircraft. Those who love aviation but never had the oppurtunity to fly are always welcome. Those who love history and an interest to WW2 are welcome. Even those who have no knowledge of flying or military history are welcome.
If this has interest to you, then follow these simple instructions.
1) Go to hitechcreations.com and download the game for FREE
2) Create an active account with an ingame handle (acepilot, 100kills, etc..)
3) Create an Aces High forum bb account - go to Help and Training and post a new topic on being a new player. There are many volunteer players who will be there to assist you.
For all new and experienced computer users and players, we help everyone.
look forward to seeing you.
I have posted a few spots in Craigslist. We have players all over the world. If we flood that in every city and country, then maybe some new players will start to trickle in.
I thank you all for taking the time to read this and especially helping out.

I don't do antisocial sites like facebook or twitter. This is a good idea for those that do.
-
I've been recording my sorties to post pic's on twitter and a sim race site that has a good amount of of traffic in their other section.

Even more videos on youtube would be good. Making sure that folks realize it is AH III.

If you don't do antisocial media does that make you antisocial?

I'm social. I actually know a lot of folks and shake hands. Meet knew real folks all the time. That is real social.

I should be in charge of vetting of potential newcomers :old:

Ah, so people who "do" social media don't know people? Logic.

Roll your eyes since you do not understand.
Many have no idea how to act in groups because they spend most all their time online in what some call social media. Social medial is a misnomer as there is nothing social about it.

You guys have totally hijacked what is a nice thread about recruiting more players. His idea for placing "Craigslist" advertisements might actually help bring a few players in. Come on gents, start a new thread if you really need a social media discussion.

FYI.. skuzzy posted about custom arenas being accessable to folks without a subscription.
My understanding is you need a sub to create the arena, but anyone is free to join.
We need to first off, get some arenas open and available to these folks. Secondly, make it aware to people.
I am going to find a good map and run MA settings, and start leaving an arena open while I am not playing the game.
Gotta start somewhere

This is a good idea. There has to be someone wiling to sacrifice their comp to keep the room open like in H2H. I really wish there was some sort of fast pace arena I could hop into when I don't have time for the MA.
My theory is, there just has to be more than 4 people in the room to spark interest. Once you get up to 6 players, it's actually pretty fun. When you can get up to 8+ the intensity really starts to kick in. The key to making it really fun is to keep the maps really small, like in H2H, so people arnt overwhelmed and can very easily find low altitude fights.
I hope it works out man. I I'd really like to see some fast action map setups with people playing!

That's social media and Shuffler said social media won't help so there's that.

Please do not tell me what I do and do not understand. Keep the fallacious arguments out of it.
The very definition of social is "of or relating to human society, the interaction of the individual and the group...". Some near synonyms are "community" and "group". Nowhere does it state that to be "social" one must be interacting in person nor does it prohibit one from being "social" on the internet.

Wonder if a trial could be done on a limited free thing to see if it would actually work and entice the free players to sub to get better aircraft. Or they will just be freeloaders (and easy targets). Something along the line of only having access to
Spit 1/Hurri Mk 1
Jeep/M3
C47/B5N2
That would increase numbers and perhaps get more of the regular players back when MA numbers get high again like they used to
-
posted OP thread on facebook!

Why do you feel it is necessary to say: "It is a 15 year old game with hundreds of players active during an 24 hour time frame but more active during the US evening time."
I would not mention the age of the game and your number of years differs from those that I've seen HiTech publish, also, if you tell people that there are hundreds of players active during a 24 hour time frame and they log on and only see 75 total, I think it hurts the credability of your statement.

:aok
Yep, give them a few lower class rides and let them play in the MA for free forever.
If they want the whole set of vehicles & aircraft unlocked, it will cost subscription fee.

Anyone ever think about advertising at local gun shows or historical reenactments? What about local airshows. I dont know if they would allow soliciting but, I think the crowds at these venues would actually be interested in our game.

Yes, make them suffer. Free kills for everyone!

Skuzzy did say this. I believe this is a great idea.

As you yourself have said you "dont do social media" let me clue you in a bit. Social media is a bunch of people sitting at there computer discussing, and exchanging ideas with other people across the internet. Very much like what we do here.
So you may "say" you don't do social media, but you do only in a very tight group of people as apposed to the possible large group of everybody on the internet.
So to break it to you :P

Those types of venues would want to sell you a booth, like every other "vendor". BTW, they charge extra for things like electrical hookups, tables, chairs, etc.
Maybe having someone run around sticking flyers under windshield wipers in the parking lot would work.

if hitech was to put this game on steam and change to a F2P model, he wouldn't be able to find enough room for the amount of people that would be playing nor the amount of money he would be making.
- directly compete with war thunder (intelligently) and pull their sim crowd to this game

Whats a vendor spot cost? A couple grand for a weekend show? I know the WWII weekend in Reading PA draws huge crowds, thousands of people. Not only would you get lets say a couple percent of those coming through to sing up, youd get word of mouth to a bunch more. Hit a half dozen shows for the year your looking at 300-400 new players and who knows how many show up as friends tell friends.
Nobody say it was free, but would it be a better investment than 5 or 6 figures for a tv commercial?
