Title: Aces High Broadcast Network
Post by: AKKuya on December 26, 2016, 02:49:00 PM
The Aces High Broadcast Network is now open!!!!!  You can view this over in YouTube.

This is a player initiative to promote the game in a big way. I created a YouTube channel to contain all thing Aces High.  This is a cooperative venture to start recruiting new players to the game. I uploaded my first video today.

Intro to AH
youtu.be/ba6Iqq9JrjE

I am asking for all of you to send me your videos to upload. This is a Channel that can be organized into video topics. Also, these videos can be tagged into the social media platforms.

My video is a rough cut with an $18 video camera from Walmart. It runs on 3 AAA batteries.  There will be a need for players who have better equipment to create better videos for initial existing.  Players who can edit and add special effects down the road.

We needs videos to highlight the action of the game, the graphics of the game, how to videos about the game, player testimonies of the game, squad videos, special events videos, training videos, and anything other might think of.

Right off the bat, we need Public Affairs Officers from the Squads to correlate Squad activities, PAOs from Special Events to correlate those events, Country freelancers who fly the Main Arena and report on the activities, and any who want to help.

This will be a massive collaboration.  Slow at first, but will pick up speed real soon.  We need to flood the internet with videos.

I put my email at the bottom of my sig.  We can do this.

We get hundreds of videos there, then we can have people subscribe. The way I understand that. Any new video uploaded will show up on their homepage.

Why not just screen capture?

Why not just screen capture?

Do you mean screenshots?  They are excellent for posting pics.

Not screenshots, a film of the game playing by capturing it through your video card.  Many cards can do it but if yours does not then applications such as FRAPS will do it also.

I applaud the sentiment of what you are doing and I do not mean to cause offence however your video is very poor in comparison to others out there and I encourage you to seek out those who make good vids and use their talents to achieve your goals.

That's why I had this in OP.

The underlying intent is to get more people involved.

I am asking for all of you to send me your videos to upload.

That might not be necessary. I think you can simply add already existing videos to playlists of the channel. And also refer to other possibly existing channels (not sure if there are any AH-themed channels existing). Sorting through what exists is probably more efficient than to start creating content from scratch.

Something like going to the film and screenshots forum here and posting what you need and why you need it.

ccvi, good point.

YouTube also has a live-stram now.  Perhaps you could use that some how.
Maybe fly live and take some Q&A from the viewers.
I've bought a couple of different games after watching live on Twitch and talking to the broadcaster
about the game.

AKKuya, you might be starting something good here.   :aok
Good luck, I'll support however I can.

On making/rendering videos after screen capture.

My channel which is mostly AH videos
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCADnOaV0-52prmVlAkLEZ_g (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCADnOaV0-52prmVlAkLEZ_g)

I'm going to go ahead and tell you Aces High is a hard sell to the market today, pay to play is the number one followed by the learning curve. You need to start with decent equipment and such or else folk will pretty quickly lose interest and not watch your material. I'm not trying to mash what is a good idea and Ive been uploading AH videos since 2009, the kicker is outside of the few hundred that still play no one cares about this game or will take the time/effort/money to learn it. So if you're going to do something like this you can't really start it out like this, in this day and age there isn't really a good excuse to start out like this. Nividia shadow play is free with a Nividia graphics card and you can even use it to stream direct to Youtube.

Vudu15 have you tried OBS Studio (https://obsproject.com/)?
The recording are really great quality, and file sizes are much smaller than FRAPS and many other capture software.

P.S.  Been watching your YouTube videos for the past few days.  Very entertaining.
Keep up the good work, it's appreciated.  :aok

call me stupid-but how are you going to get people who don't know about Aces High, view AH on youtube, or to let them know that there is even such a place?

When you publish the video for public viewing, there is a place to place 'tags'. You type individual words (WW2, air combat, simulator, flight) and these are placed in the search software of the internet.

Coogan I have not Shadowplay allows you to stream direct now and has great screen capture with small file sizes it also captures my aduio in game and from my mic so at this time I don't really need anything else. But I have looked hard at dxtory and I think if I needed that would be the way I would go.

We want to be sure all videos are of AHIII and not AHII.

Screen shots are effective when used mixed with video also.

I use them in weddings and funerals all the time. Most of the time for funerals they are all pictures used in conjunction with music and movement.

Stay tuned. There are ongoing plans behind the scenes. Sometime in January, there should be a big event.

Just that pesky irritant RL that gets in the way.  Anybody have a leash for that?  :D

I've been watching a lot more youtube channels lately (more than television by far) especially since youtube is available on most/all smart tvs.

Anyway, I was wondering as I'm watching these gamers with tons of subscribers who are testing out games and stuff, if it wouldn't be more prudent to get them to test the game rather than start a channel from scratch with zero gaming subscribers. You'd reach a more correct audience than television commercials and it's probably more cost effective.

could be just an email to a few of those folks asking them if they are willing to check out the game and how that works.

Good idea, if you can find a person who's into flight/combat sims.
Just so the game gets a fair shake.

Problem with livestreaming is people tend to monitor and use it as an intel channel.  So I quite doing it.

Here is a link to my channel...feel free to subscribe/link it on the page you created.

What version of Sony Vegas are you using ? I had to revert back to 11 as 12 would not run right on Win 10

I have noticed on the limited occasions that off hours was more like 40-50 instead of <20    and 100+ towards the evening which is encouraging.

Maybe Santa dropped off a few spare PC parts.    :D

Whatever the new players do, tell them not to pull on the skirts of the game's more infamous crybabies.  Poke those wash women with a fair fight and wipe out their mission, and they'll throw a hissy fit and mass-report you.

Jinx, I, along with many whom play the game with you, are distressed that this happened to you.  It will be dealt with I am sure as incidents of this nature have been dealt with before.

Please don't let what happened give you a jaded outlook to the game or the majority of your fellow players that have good sportsmanship.

Let it go buddy.
