Hi, haven't been able to get in for a week or two. Game loads, I get to the arena screen, no matter which arena I select it starts to load for a sec then I get the above error message, restarted puter but no change. Any thought? Thx ESU

You can try the DX9 version of the game and see if that loads. Navigate to C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High III if that is where you installed the game and double click the "aceshigh9" exe file. That will start the game in DX9 mode and see if you have the same issue.
-
same error message except aceshigh9.
-
OK, I'd download a clean version of the game and install it over the game you have now. The new install wont mess with any of your settings but may fix a corrupted file that could be causing the issue.
-
Will do.
-
tried it, no good,,, same message,
-
What are your graphics settings?
-
1440 x 900
-
Is it a laptop with dual graphics? If so, ensuring that the game starts with the more powerful graphics device might help.
Just a wild guess, no guarantee...
-
negative, regular old desktop,,,, worked fine till after the last update I believe,,,, what should the graphics be set at?
-
The game should use the "real" video card if there's two of them, usually an Intel for desktop use and an Nvidia for gaming. Some desktops may have those, but it's quite rare. It's mostly seen on laptops.
As for the settings for a gaming level video card, AH is built to use the default settings, advanced settings being done from within the game.
-
1 video card, home built system...Any more thoughts? Uninstall and re-install?

Did you post a dxdiag?
If you did, tell us where, if not please do so. You can go here...
http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,342871.msg4526838.html#msg4526838
if your not sure how to post one.
Once you post that maybe we can spot some other thing to suggest.
-
Which browser did you use for downloading the game when you installed it over the existing one? Chrome has been causing issues for the download, so another browser would be preferable.
-
I don't use chrome.

I moved this form the "Bug Report" forum as there is not enough information to determine if this is a game bug or a system configuration issue. As Windows 10 changes, without your knowledge, it could be either.
Try manually updating the NVidia driver. Do not install the HDMI NVidia sound driver.
Also check for an updated sound driver for the Realtek sound card. That driver you are using is very old.
With Windows 10, you have to stay on top of things. It will update drivers when you do not want to and it will not update drivers when it should.
I would like to see the entire DXDIAG file. Please ZIP it up and post it as an attachment.
Also note, in the game installation folder is a "temp" folder. Look in that folder for any *.dmp (dumps) files and post them in the "Bug Report" forum as they contain useful information about what happened.
-
Skuzzy, probably should put this in the tech support originally, my bad. You asked about dmp files in the temp folder but said to put them in the bug report forum but isn't that where you moved this post from?
-
zip of the dxdiag,,, I think
-
updated NVidia driver, no joy. sound driver according to windows is the most recent/best available.
-
Need to see the latest DXDIAG output. The one you posted still has the old NVidia driver in it.
As far as the *.dmp files go. Always post those in the "Bug Report" forum.
Do not trust Windows to do any updates of those drivers. Go to the manufacturer WEB site and look for the latest. The audio driver you are using was done long before Windows 10 ever shipped.
-
latest dxdiag
-
Try removing your WEB cam from the computer. Windows 10 had some serious issues with WEB cams in a recent update.
Also, those RealTek drivers have to be updated. If Gigabyte has not posted updated drivers it could mean they have no intention of supporting Windows 10 on that motherboard. There is quite a bit of older hardware not supported by Windows 10.
I also noted the motherboard drivers have not been updated either. They appear to be from 2012 as well, which means they are not native Windows 10 drivers.
-
I know this is out of turn, but Skuzzy did you receive my "message"?
None of my "sent items" are showing up so I'm not sure if my message to you actually got to you....
-
Just responded.
-
Skuzzy, removed the webcam, updated the realtek drivers through gigsbyte. Cant seem to update the motherboard drivers, having problems. And AH still not loading.
-
In the games installation folder, are there any *.dmp files in the games "temp" folder?
If not, then the game does not sound like it can even finish a complete load. Are you running any anti-xxxx software?
The only other oddity I can spot in the DXDIAG output is the vertical sync rate does not seem right. It is showing 75Hz, instead of the native 60Hz. Not sure how that is possible.
-
Skuzzy there are a few dmp files but for the life of me cant figure how to open or even cut and paste? Actually it wont let me copy to here?
-

Zip them up, as they do compress well, then make a new post in the "Bug Reports" forum describing when the game crashes and attach those files to that post.
-
DId a complete uninstall and fresh re-install and I'm back in business,,,, thanks Skuzzy for your assistance,, ESU
