Title: Trim tab illumination

I love to fly manual trim, though many WW 2 Fighters didn't have the trim surfaces we have in AH. However as my eyes dim alittle many rides trim tab indicators are difficult to acquire position visually. All IJ fighters are extremely difficult, BF 109s, Spitfires, P39s, P38s and several 190s in my biased perception could use a tweak.

Try turning shadows off and see if that helps...

You have to disable Post Lighting.   Unfortunately, doing that makes everything else look bad as you lose Anti-Alias (among other things).  .
