When I log into AH, my splash screen shows DX9. My "old" computer is running W10. Is it an option to run DX11, will it improve performance, or even doable?
Thanks for the advice! :salute

Since patch #??? AH3 puts the shortcut for DX9 version on the desktop by default because it works better with the older computers and is compatible with the new ones, too.
Find the DX11 version in the game folder and create a shortcut for easy access.

Thanks Bizman! Will there be any perceivable change in performance on my "older computer"?

Puma,
Are you using VR equipment? AFAIK it's the only reason to run DX11. I tried to run DX11 when AH3 first came out but got stutters and drop in FR. I tried DX9 and it was pretty smooth, even when framerate dropped into low 50's it still seemed rather smooth.
I could be wrong but other than VR equipment there's no real benefit to running DX11
YMMV!

I think the version choice depends on your particular components Morf. Best to do what you did, try both and see if there's a noticeable difference.

Thanks gents! No, I'm not using VR. I did try the DX11 this afternoon. The frame rates seem somewhat lower than with DX9. My system is about seven years old, dual graphic cards, and crossfired. So, unless someone has additional ideas, it appears DX9 works better on my system. I do have to run with some of the graphics options disabled on DX9 to keep frames in the 55-60 range. :salute
