That'd be nice but I'm no longer a ford guy.

I've had it with them.

Bought new 1991 F-150 and the tranny goes at 130k
Bought new 1999 Ford Explorer and the tranny goes at 122k
Bought new 2005 Ford Mustang and the tranny goes at 124k

DONE with Ford.

did they just try to bring back the most hideous truck ever?  no...they wouldn't.  Only ford guys will want that over/under powered rollover death trap.... and they painted it white  :bhead  surely the engineer team is going through a mid life crisis.  :old:

Isn't discussion of trannies disallowed on the board?

Go, Fnord!

(However, I worked at Chevy -- and so Chevy is better in all ways!  :aok)

I'd rather a 4 cylinder turbo diesel, like they had in the 2004 concept Bronco.  More fuel economy, more torque, last longer.

yeah 6.7 powerstroke

One of the top of the line engines in light duty trucks. Father has a 2016 6.7. F250 and it has over 900ft/lb torque from factory.

I had my 05 diesel completely rebuilt with new wheel, larger injectors, better pump, and studs on the heads so I can Jack the hp and torque when I need it.

My next move will be a stage 3 clutch pack.

I prefer chevy/GMAC. I can load up and drive off road and not break my tailgate.

Broncos always had detachable roofs.   At least those I remember.

I don't see a parting line for either a full or half detachable roof..

I always liked the early Bronco and Blazer, because of their FULL detachable roofs.. The early small Bronco with the 351W is a great Combo.. Almost as good as a CJ5 Renegade V8

Same here, my one Silverado (I have 2) is an 04 1500HD 4dr......240K miles with orig. engine and trans. Honestly never had a major component on that truck go. (I lie, had to replace brake lines)  That said im a maintenance potato with my vechs....to the point that my one buddy asks me when im taking it in to get the turn signal greased, as its probably overdue  lol.

I like that new Bronco......nice lines.

I drive a '13 Z71 approaching 80K miles. I've had to replace some sensor that kept kicking the check engine light on. That's it.

Those are not exactly easy highway miles either.

After build mine is just over 500 at the crank. Tick the tuner and I can get high enough to kill my Allison right now.

LOL the new Factory stock for 2017 is 445hp  910 torque

Mine is new but I am no less impressed with it.  It's a 2016 Lariat with the 3.5 Ecoboost.  Completely stock and makes plenty of power for me - I think its 360/420 HP/TQ.  But what is impressive is I was averaging 22 MPG and then I bought a boat:)  Still averaging 20 MPG hauling the boat when I get an itch to fish, and that is frequent when the weather is right.

Australians swear by Toyota. All of our tradies either use the Hilux or the Holden V-8 Ute. And I see a lot more of the former in an official capacity than the latter.

I'm really thinking hard on buying a '43 Ford with a 525hp V8 and 5-spd tranny which is supposed to be tricky to handle. It only gets 1-1/3 gallons to the mile though. It's also been said that you can start the thing with a screwdriver and no key, so that's another worry.

    :rofl :rofl :rofl

Yup and you could start an old chevy on a dime! IIRC up to about 65,66 unless you turned the key to the lock position you could start the car by just turning the ignition switch,no key needed just insert a dime and fire her up!  Most never bothered to "lock" the ignition as the key would come out in just the off position. We had a 63 impala and I would drive it around the lot all the time, never had a key to it.... :devil

I just watched the news coming from Mexico people are rioting, looting stores and refuse to pay public transportation. The Mexican  peso lost 20% of its value since November, and the gas price are up 20% . Coming to Canada soon, most of the economy here in southern Ontario is dependent of auto industry .

General rule for a 4x2 is multiply WHP by 15%.  I imagine a 4x4 the factor would be higher.

Which engine and tranny? 1500 or 2500?  Do you pull a trailer often?

Have a 2007 with 170k miles, trying to decide if I should get a new one before starting our truly retired road trip around America.

Fiat is moving Jeep Renegade production from Belvidere, Illinois to Mexico.   As well as 2017 Jeep Compass production in Mexico.   Both are piles of poop anyways.

As I've said many times before, FCA and GM make many more vehicles in Mexico.
