Title: Skins only available offline

I'm using the Oculus preview version of the game which is located in a different folder than the regular game. Not sure if that matters.

I can only select a custom DR1 skin offline. Online in WW1 arena they show up in red and are non selectable.

Kanth, just a guess but it sounds like the game is looking for the skin in the Oculus preview version but you dl'd it to you're normal game folder.

All of the skins are verified in :

C:\Program Files\Oculus\Software\Software\hitech-creations-aces-high\Hitech Creations\Aces High III\skins

There are 4 of them for the DR1.  I was able to select them in the past. Something has changed.
There is no normal game folder.

To be able to use skins online, the "skins.res" file must be downloaded from the server.  It will be placed in the "skins" folder.

Until that file is installed from the server, no skins are available online.

They work offline.

It was working before and allowed me to set a custom skin.  Recently when I tried to change it, it was disabled online.  Offline it works.

Yes, they will always work offline.  Online requires the "skins.res" file in the skins folder, which comes from the server.  Without that file no skins are available online.

Is that file in your skins folder?  If not connect online for a bit and it should come down.  It can take a bit for it to start.

I do not see the "skins.res" file in that image.  There, literally, must be a file named "skins.res" in the skins folder.  That file contains all the known information about the skins allowed online in the game.  Without that file, no skin can be used online.

The only way to get that file is to be connected online to an arena for a bit.

You will note this also happens when we release a new batch of skins.  All the skins go away, then they come back once the new version of the "skins.res" file has been installed.

I had to scroll the directory.

I do have that file, it's dated 8/4/2016 if there's an updated one I should have I can sit online and see if it downloads.

You can always delete that file, or rename it to make sure the new file is coming down.

EDIT:  As a matter of fact, that is exactly what I would do.  If that file has managed to get read-only permissions, then it cannot be deleted by the game.
