They're actually restoring one of these to flying condition. Last I saw it was coming along nicely. Engines hung, on its gear.

I was in Harlingen when the CAF crunched theirs.   Such a bummer.  :(

F-82 was ruined when they switched it back to junky American made Allison engines.  Much performance was lost.

Very true.  And it became kinda' ugly, too.

And it did good in that war.....for a short time.   Got the first three air to air kills.
