I seem to remember several years ago there would be occasional fog at ports.
It was tough to attack and tough to defend depending on which side of it you were on.
Some of the dog fighting in the fog was amazing.
Is it possible to do something similar in the MA again?
My wish is for sporadic fog on or near coastal bases. If it is possible at all.

There's no technical reason an MA map designer could create a fog bank as it is just some heavy clouds but set at ground level. My concern would be whether it would cause players with marginal PCs frame rate issues.

I was testing "low" cloud banks and Hitech gave me the cloud elevation standards for AH3.
Clouds - single layer minimum elevation 2000ft AGL, touching mountain tops is ok. Do not cross fronts of different elevations.
Stratus Layer - single layer above highest elevation for game play.
When Hitech so kindly suggested I change out "all" of the rock on my terrain for a different tile, I had been setting up cloud fronts over water ways at 2000ft AGL to give task groups a chance to break out from the local port areas. Even with a light broken cloud layer at 2000ft, I found an aircraft cannot see the task group at a distance looking through the broken layer at an angle. You have to be virtually over it looking down through the cloud gaps. I have 9 islands and get about 2 a day completely converted to the new "rock". Then I have 9 ports and water ways to setup cloud fronts and test them for FPS or "error on exiting" the game after letting them run 3-5 hours.
Greebo how come you hid this fun from us all these years...... :bhead

I haven't been keeping up with terrain stuff for a while now. On CraterMA I set up cloud fronts running over strats and likely CV fight locations but they are all 8K or more alt IIRC.
Bustr you may well know the following but just in case you don't.
If all the rock faces you are converting are steep cliffs you can set up the TE to change them all in one go. Just set the two angle filters to appropriate settings, lets say one at 60 and one at 90 degrees, set the terrain type to the one you want to convert to and then click "Apply to all Terrain". That sets any part of your terrain lying at an angle of between 60 and 90 degrees to that terrain type. Make sure you back up the terrain files first though in case you don't like the result. To save time I usually set up a terrain using combinations of angle and altitude filter with various terrain types and "Apply to all terrain" before laboriously hand finishing it.

The P button by the filters is also to "Pick" the angle or height by clicking on the terrain.

I'm at a point that I'll just keep to hand repainting since that would destroy the strata effects I created in the main mountain range with the tool below that one where I picked elevations. I was not prepared for the re-cuts to rock faces I'm doing here and there because of the extreme texturing the white rock tile adds to surfaces. I'm almost done with the 6th of 9 islands. I really wish Waffle had created an intermediary tile to blend the white rock better with the lower alt tree tiles. The white rock has a green and gray with sparse trees tile next to it that blends the boarders seamlessly, it just has the same problem with the lower alt tiles.
