Title: What is the Free Tab?
Post by: Mongoose on February 04, 2017, 10:58:44 AM
When I first go online, there are four tabs in clipboard:  Melee, Mission, Events, and Free.  What is the Free tab, and how do I use it?

I'm thinking it is the player arena tab where players can set up and control an arena for up to 16 people. Maybe now it's accessible for non-paying players?

As a paying customer you can setup a custom arena. NON paying customers can log in and select your custom arena and play while you have it open.

That's really cool!  But how does that work?  You need a login name and password to get to the point where you can select the arena.   I am going to have to try this out. I can see this as a great recruiting tool.

Yea hopefully some of the guys who play the other air combat sims bring some buddies over to try....also would be good for old squaddies looking to see if it's worth coming back for.

Actually, any arena in the tab is free to play.  No subscription required.

Now in order to create an arena, you hae to have a subscription, but that does not preclude us from putting arenas in there.

Skuzzy what's to stop players from say uploading the old DA there and just keeping it up 24 7?? Say I just uploaded it and sat there AFK?

You say that like it is a bad thing.  There is nothing to stop it and we do not intend to do anything to inhibit it.  The free arenas are restricted to how many people can play in them.

Make them any way you like.

You don't even need to sit there if people are in the arena. Once you create one it stays up until it is empty for 5 mins.

Oh no not a bad thing at all....I'm saying it in a manner of "what if I leave my account logged in there"... while I do other things so people can fool around who are thinking about making a comeback...will I get in trouble or penalized but from your response I already have the answer :aok

Does AH have any sort of 'inactivity boot' to it?
