Title: Quiet Channel
Post by: Ron on February 05, 2017, 05:08:53 PM
Please can anyone tell me a channel number that is unused.
AH defaults to 101. However, there is quite a bit of traffic on it,

Thanks

Ron

Haha everyone's a joker!
Do Ron Ron Ron do Ron Ron...

My advice is cruise through them until you find an empty one..
But some one might come on and tell you it's their squad channel so you can be courteous and move along..you might even make new friends..our squad is 71 RAF So we use 171.(on Knights).always have always will..there are other long term squad channels so be aware..but trial and error is the only way I am aware of..
Good luck
Jimmy

The only real squad channel is the one called "squad". Nobody owns any numbered channel, but many have "claimed" one as belonging to them. There isn't a list of "squad" channels, so as was said earlier, start working your way through the range until you find one not being used.

Thanks for the info guys.

I've built a radio controller for AH using a 1950s UHF aircraft controller, and I can interface it to AH by driving macros from the frequency dials to select different channels.
The only way, I can simulate the man voice channel to off is by the macro selecting a dead channel. (I think)
The suggestion of tuning oneself seems a possibility.

All the best, and thanks again,

Ron (Ronnie)

PS: Hi Bruv!

In the vox box  change from 101 to any channel available over 200.  There are several 2XX channels with no one on them.

anything over 200 is cross country. that means the enemy can hear it too. in the AVA we use vox 223 so both sides can talk to each other.

Here’s a short video to explain.

The idea is to build a simpit that doesn’t need a keyboard, and all controls are interfaced to actual old aircraft controls. Gear/Flap levers, mag switches, park brake lever,  autopilot controller etc.

All the best,

Ronnie.
