He takes a lot more time and lining up a carrier landing than ANY active player. Most people seem to just do the wheels up belly plant on a cv lol

So practicing a genuine, Gear down/Hook down, landing is useless in actual gameplay?
How disappointing!

Doesn't the USN have ratings for carrier landings, EVERY landing being critiqued?
Should there be a cost to a 1/2assed landing?

If you smashed your plane at every landing, you wouldn't be flying long!
Maybe throw in few perks for a proper carrier landing?

Maybe after crashing a few landings per tour, a player could be barred as unfit for
Carrier duty until the next tour?

They seemed to have a great laugh and good time playing and said they should play more..they seemed quite excited and loved it..they need to play more..I suppose they where used to a different flight model so ours seemed a tad strange..
It has bought in a load of new players..I know of a few that have come back after seeing that video..we have 2 on our channel..welcome these new guys and help them..its been a good boost to the game.
<S> phlee

I think the carrier belly flop is only slightly more widely used than the standard runway belly flop in all honestly. Why taxi to a stop and risk a vulch when you can belly flop...

Not saying I condone it

After reading your last sentence I was about to type something snotty like "oh that'll work well" but then I re-read the part where you say "throw in a few perks for proper carrier landing" and that idea is genius. I don't know if you would give perks plural, a single perk or a fraction of a perk for every landing but I think it is a not bad idea. A player can grind away doing supply runs for perks after all, why not for something that some pilots take a few tries to master?

Well that is even more disappointing.

Carrot and Stick usually work best when used together!
Maybe 3 wire, for 3 perks? With BONUS for landing a damaged airplane!
Pilot skill should be rewarded!

If they don't wanna come aboard, then they can ditch or bail, and take the score hit!

It is probably more about land and reupp quickly vs a proper landing, taxi, rearm, taxi, lift off unless said person is working on a kill streak.

If the airfield is under attack when you land it's better to make it as quick as possible. Regardless of how you land, subsequent flights with that particular aircraft is unlikely...

Maybe throw in few perks for a proper carrier landing?

I very much think that's a great idea! Maybe even extend it to proper runway landings (say one perk, versus a twol perks for a CV landing). The aircraft has to be on a runway/deck, and be fly-able upon exiting the a/c, to accrue the perks. Perhaps cap the number of perks you can earn per day from this, to avoid people grinding (i.e. doing touch and go's all day, just to rack up points).
