Title: Dual Throttles and RPMs for 4 engine bombers
Post by: LTCClark on March 06, 2017, 03:51:45 PM
I know this is a concession however with most of the new joysticks having dual throttles it would be nice to have engines 1 and 2 linked to a single throttle
and engines 3 and 4 linked to a second.

I have a Saitek X55 and it has dual throttles

also with the throttle quadrants which are not quads at all by saitek if you have two of them then you can control 4 engines, however there are two axis left for the controllers which could be assigned for rpm 1-2 and 3-4

this setup is already halfway there since there is an option for controlling rpms mani etc but only for one engine at a time.

what do you guys think?

I have a Warthog, and was wondering how to put engine 1 and 2 on on throttle, and 3 and 4 on another. When flying a twin, it works fine, but it would be good for an engine-out situation on a 4-engine beast.

You can use modes to set the throttles to all 4 engines. For example mode 1 could be engines 1 and 4 or engines 1 and 2. Use a button to toggle between modes. You could also set a 3rd mode where one throttle is all 4 engines.

I would like to see an option for "all LEFT throttle" and "all RIGHT throttle" as well as "all LEFT rpm" and "all RIGHT rpm"

If you have 2 throttles and 2 rpms, for example, it makes mapping them harder for twin engine planes vs 4 engine bombers. If we could just map one of them to "all left" and "all right" that would account for either 2 or 4 engined planes. Until we get tri-motors or Do-335 types that will cover all planes in the game.
