I got my wing shot off and had to exit my aircraft, and ended up in the sea.
I decided to swim to a nearby friendly CV to the Southwest, but found that I was being pulled North!
Does the ocean have a tide?

If there is ground-level wind, you will be blown by a very strong tide. We had that problem during the Karelia scenario where LVTs had to cross rivers but it was almost impossible at times because of how wind and water worked.

Actually it was Jaws, pulling you away for dinner....if you zoom in you would have seen the terrified look on your pilots face.

Wow! Can we have sailing ships?

I think it was just a disproportionate reaction to GVs vs planes. It was a fixed direction, but in our case it was making us cross against the wind and we couldn't make any headway.

You needed to tack agains the prevailing wind! You risk enemy ships of the line crossing your T and holing your mizzenmasts with grapeshot!

Dumbo operations anyone? :salute
Maybe a Kingfisher launched from the Battleship?
Or a Catalina, possibly a Mavis or Sunderland?
