I can't transmit in AH, but I can in Ventrillo. I've checked everything I can think of, but I must be missing something. I checked windows settings, game settings, etc. Everything seems to be correct, yet no one can hear me in game. I can hear everyone else, though.

Did that. Can't hear my voice. Only a faint hum. Others said they heard static when I key up.

Are you sure the Options->Preferences->Game Sounds panel has the correct microphone device?
If it does, then are you holding the 'T' or 'F12' key down while you are talking, then releasing it?
If yes, then are you behind a router? If so you might want to power cycle it.
If you are behind a firewall, and it is blocking UDP, then that will stop VOX from working in the game.

I have the "space bar" and "dot" keys mapped for talking, but I use 2 buttons on my Thrustmaster 99.99% of the time. So, my answers are: yes (correct mic), no (not pressing any keys), yes (I have a router supplied by Xfinity). I'll try your suggestion to power cycle it. I have a firewall, but don't know if it's blocking anything; haven't seen any messages to that effect.

OK, I think I fixed it. Too many things in Windows for a novice like me to check up on, just for sound.

Don't be too harsh on yourself, since W8 the Redmond people have been trying to reinvent the wheel, spreading the settings all over the place, leaving some where we've learned them to reside and changing some locations with every major update so even their own support people can't follow the progress.
