Title: Hey Colombo!
Post by: Puma44 on March 27, 2017, 11:30:48 PM
If I recall, you flew the B-24 in the past.  During a recent Museum visit which had a PB4Y, we pondered the difference between the two different tail configurations, pros & cons, etc.  Do you have experience in both?  Anything to offer comparing the two?  Thanks!  :aok

I would love to get a chance to fly a Privateer but haven't been lucky so far.

IIRC the single fin is less drag and weight.

I did have one drop fire-retardant on me one fun afternoon!

Really sad the one down in Houston got dunked in the hurricane.   Pima has it.   Thing is probably rotting from the inside out now.  :(

Flying any of them would make me believe you are very lucky. :)

Yeah, I had a pretty good run of luck there for a while.  Had dinner one night with Paul Tibbetts and Robert Morgan seated at the same table.
