Title: is there a quick way to share to Youtube?
Post by: FESS67 on March 30, 2017, 04:16:12 AM
Must be a way that I can upload a decent quality vid to YouTube without it taking hours and hours?

I have CC Premier pro if I need to use a vid application

It's all about bandwidth and size of video. To decrease upload time you can either decrease quality of your recording from say 1080p to 720p or keep your videos to 10 minute chunks or less. The quickest upload type is streaming as it stores the video as you record. The big but, is you have to make sure you have a rock steady upload connection that matches the quality of video you are streaming, otherwise it will come out like satellite TV during a thunderstorm. Often this means a far less recording quality than desired unless you can fork out enough for ludicrous speed internet.

Yea a 3rd party record of your in game experience are the easiest to upload....they show a time of where you are in a recording while you play so just record highlight times then you can put them together. As it is with the film viewer you have to go back and watch them for something cool you want to find.

Which actually makes me think of a good wish for the film viewer, maybe a hot key to highlight a spot in the recording in the film viewer so it's easier to go through and get footage of something.

could system messages be the flag? example; get a kill film flagged, destroy/damage something, flag on film?

Yea I use the text to figure out where something was but I mean in the time bar at the top, maybe a .highlight while recording puts a line in that recorded bar so it's easier to get to when going back to look at films.

I use avidemux to change the format and size of the video.  I use this on OBS created videos though and still get HD quality changing something from several gig to 800MB or so.  You can see the settings.  And it's free and pretty easy to use. Just do the settings and then hit the save button.

did this one that way and it's the full FSO from take off to freakout, still 720p looks ok.

Yeah exactly what I was thinking... Just wrap the progress bar in the System messages to get some basic color annotations or flags along the timeline slider.  :aok

If you have an Nvidia gfx card you can use Shadowplay. You can even stream live if you want to.
