Title: nVidia releases another new Titan card - surprise
Post by: Gman on April 06, 2017, 06:44:51 PM
Without any info leading up to this release, nVidia has come out with yet another new GPU, a faster Titan that the Titan(Pascal) released in late 2016, called Titan Xp.  No reviews yet as it's been "classified" until today, but the stats look impressive, albeit not cheap.

interesting. I"m still looking at upgrading my GPU so...very interesting. We'll see the diff between it and the 1080ti.

1080ti is better bang for the buck, especially if you get a good design which keeps the card cool so it holds its boost clock for a long time.

I am over the graphics cards.  Intel needs to release some serious CPU's.  There is nothing I can't do with the regular ol 1080, especially when it comes to Aces High.  With all other flight sims, I am almost always CPU bottlenecked.

What CPU do you have? I'd be impressed if a late i7 is a bottleneck.

The way Nvidia has been rolling out these GPUs is enough to cause outrage in its fan club. They are attempting to gin up competition amongst buyers by creating pricing tiers, because AMD really is not providing enough competition to generate the profits Nvidia needs to push forward with their road plan at the pace at which they desire. It's a bit like nerve-stapling the factory workers when they begin to riot. This card has nothing of significant value over previous releases, yet still has a huge price tag. They had me expecting a completely new card, and then release this. Maybe in November, if they have a new GPU. Not this one.

AMD has made a major step forward with its Ryzen CPU, let's hope its Vega GPU will do the same or at least catches-up with the 1080Ti at a lower price.

Newer, faster video cards is always a win for me. Makes the price of yesterday's leader more affordable for me.  :)
