Title: Brewster killed my Panzer in two passes
Post by: Randy1 on May 09, 2017, 02:03:59 PM
The player did this twice then killed my T34 before landing 3 kills.  What is aim point on a panzer and T-34 that makes them so vulnerable to a brewster attack?

A film would be incredibly helpful, as actually a Brewster shouldn't be able to do that to the T-34.
That being said, I can not find any kill of a T-34 by the Brewster for the current tour at all. Who was said player?

When did this happen?  I am looking at the raw kills table and cannot find where you were in a T34 today.  That table is a real time transaction.

There are 4 Panzer IV kills by a Brewster though.

Ive killed several panzers/T-34:s in a Brewster and there is two way to do it:

1) Get a proxy kill.
2)strafe the tank with all the ammo you have and then wait for someone else to kill him.

My guess is that the Brewster strafed your tank and then someone else, like a tank, shot and killed you.

Edit: According to http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/Panzer_IV_Type_H
the turret top armor is 16mm and the hull top is 11mm on the Panzer, that means that a very good pilot probably can kill one with .50:s in a very steep dive.

I think Sunday.  Tank Island.

My memory says T-34 on the third up hoping the T-34 could take a brewster attack better than the Panzer.  Could have been the forth and a panzer was the third.

BTW, not saying this player did anything wrong.  Just wondering how it was done.

I get a lot of panzer kills...but it is like previously mentioned. Someone in a tank usually gets the "Kill" but I did more hits/damage! Even a few t-34s,but that's after super soaking them with all my ammo and a 250lb bomb-in spit16. Did turret a t-34 in real steep dive once, only I didn't get to pull out in time...OF THE DIVE you pervs! lol Panzers seem to be better suited for kills from strafing, I have had most kills when just marking tanks for others-shooting where they are and get the kill. :x

The kills were Brewster only hits.  You just don't think of a Brewster in same way as an Il2.

Your stats says that you haven't lost any T-34 to a Brewster so he cannot have killed your T-34.

Just went through all your deaths in a T34.

Here is the breakdown.

5/3: 2 deaths
 one by a T-34/85
 one by a Spit 16

5/5: 1 death
 by a T-34/85

5/7: 5 deaths
three by a Panzer IV H
 one by a T-34/85
one by a Panzer IV F

5/8: 2 deaths
one by a Panzer IV H
 one by a T-34/85

Now, what gave you the idea you were killed by a Brewster?

Good catch.

As others have said.  The awarded kill goes to who did the most damage.  If 10 players hit you, it woul dnot be too hard for a Brewster to do more damage than each of the other nine.

Unfortunately, we do not track who does the damage and the percentage they do.

The first two was the Brewster only.  I watched.  No other GV or plane in area.  I was shocked.  The third was from the brewster as well but not 100% sure.  Then I must to have changed to the T34 hoping to survive the brewster attacks.

How can you be sure no one was around?  Just curious as I have seen plenty of people get killed by something they never saw.

One way to tell for certain.  A film.  It will tell us exactly what did what to who and when.

I had been searching for a tank fight.  None to be found.  The Brewster flew uncontested at this time.  I had checked the radar.

Again, not saying this player or the model is wrong.  Just surprised this happened at least twice.  Trapper is one heck of a good shot but I did not know he was that good.

The brewster is a plane that could dive nearly straight down on a tank top.

This should be testable in your office.

There is no way for me to simulate the exact scenario you were in.  That is why a film would be helpful, just as an information tool so we can identify exactly what happened.  If you do not have a film, that is okay.

It is never as easy as one would like it to be.

From my perspective it is just a matter of curiosity.

In yours too ;)

Offline mode, set a drone to a Panzer IVH, have at it.  :old:
