1- I release troops. I am killed while they are running and before they reach the map room. What happens to the troops?
2- I release troops. Say 7 out of 10 make it into the map room, the other three are killed by enemy. How long will we have credit for those troops that got in? Also, can I re-up in another aircraft or GV, or will that cause the credit to go away?
Thanks!

The troops/drunks stay alive until you up another sortie. The ones that make it to the map room are destroyed already and the count stays, but the map room starts healing.
You may dump 7 into the map room, but it might take 4 more to take it, depending on how long it takes to get there and dump some more.

Ok another question! Can enemy troops be canceled out by friendly troops? I have heard it said, yes! :headscratch:

I have heard this too, but have never seen it done.
Just as a note. If a gun pops or the town loses its white flag any troops in the map room will be reset to zero.

No, doesn't work.

Is it true that real players can substitute for troops, and if they encounter enemy troops, they can shoot it out?
If not, why not?

No
It's a two part question!

Yes, you can shoot and kill enemy troops with your pistol after you have bailed from your plane. No, you can not act as a trooper by running into the map room after you have bailed from your plane.

How long does the effect from troops take to heal? I think I remember 15 minutes.

Isn't that the map room setting in the arena setup? Clipboard>options>arena setup>objects>object settings>map room. I always thought that was the setting that determined how long prior troops stayed viable as the map room rebuilds. I'm interested in the clarification also mongoose.

This is what I think Hitech said, plus if a few troops that do get in, they will slowly die off until it hits the maproom timer. So if the second set of troops are going in right away and 5 made it in on the first set, 5 is all that is needed. If the timer is about to reset the second set may need 8-9 to get in.

Some of my troops are musicians. Can they bring their instruments and set up on the pavillion if it hasn't been destroyed yet?

Troops get no respect, they get dumped opposed to released? :D
