Hey guys, I haven't ran into this trouble before... but the other day i opened Aces high and noticed there was a new patch so i clicked download. Everything was fine until it stopped and went back to the Aces high main clipboard offline. Never got a error message or anything. I have tried several times and it will not ever download past a few minutes before closing again..
maybe to answer a few possible future questions...
Windows 10 upgraded from original windows 7
I am allowing AH through my firewall
Internet connection elsewhere seems fine.
Attached is a DXDIAG in case its helpful

Easiest fix is installing the full version over your current version.
-
Currently doing that.

Are you running Aces High off the SSD?

Are you running Aces High off the SSD?
No I am not.

No I am not.
Just curious.
I think we have a handle on what might be causing the problem. If it happens again, just try and run the game from the Windows Start menu before doing anything else and let me know if that works.
-
Ok I will. I re installed the game and it works fine now. If you'd like any more information I'm a open book.

Actually I spoke to soon. Here I am trying to download a file called temp/terrset03.res. And it just did it to me again. Shot me straight to the home screen. I'm currently trying to restart that file down load again will report back. Still no errors it just closed..

Try running the game from the Windows Start menu and not the desktop ICON.

Yes sir. Will do if it crashes again. If I may ask what's the difference in using the shortcut vs the start menu. Can you explain that to me in computer terms lol!
-
We think the shortcuts are getting corrupted when we patch the executable they are linked to.

I have a similar problem. The opening clipboard comes up, but no response when I use the mouse to select online/offline/quit and so on. I am using 3.01 patch 0 on an SSD (which worked fine prior to Patch 1 coming out). Attempting to launch from Windows Start up menu made no difference.
Update: I also noticed that ctrl-alt-del stopped working in Windows, even after closing AHIII. I stopped and started the game several times from the shortcut, it recognized my mouse once then lost it again as I tried to duplicate the "fix". A reboot and several startups later the game recognized the mouse and I installed 3.01 patch 1. After the patch installed, I instructed it to start AHIII when prompted. Again the clipboard gave no response to the mouse or ctrl-alt-del within Windows. I rebooted again and confirmed I could activate ctrl-alt-del within Windows prior to starting AH. So far AHIII is working correctly now from the desktop shortcut. Hope this helps.
