All that awarding perks for winning a map causes is a spike to ENY which makes people log off.
End the map-win perk system. Let the bandwagoners stay on their own team.
We had a great fight going then ENY kicked in and now it's dying off. ENY is not worth the hassle and the perk/win thing only exacerbates it.
Just my opinion. <S>

winning the map gets you measly 25 perks. I did 23 perks in a single sortie yesterday. I added those 23 perks to the other 21,000 or so that are gathering dust in my hangar.

You got 3x25=25 perks.
For the average player, that's quite a lot. They don't do 23 perk sorties either - in fighter and attack mode the median perk gain per hour is more like 2-5.

Sure, I am an above average player that flies an ENY30 monster. Other players offest this by playing a lot more hours than me.
The stronger point I was making is the 2nd - these perks are useless. I have no interest in flying the perked planes. 262s I roll only when these's a chance for jet-on-jet action, and usually I end up doing silly things with them, like deacking and strafing GVs.
I really cant see the 25 perks per category as a coveted prize.

That's not a stronger point, because it's just about you again. You have no interest - many other players, especially somewhat newer ones, do. So much that they have to be regulated by the perk system. And for those, the war perks are a notable source of 'income'. I still remember how much I was after them until I was able to generate a steady stream of fighter perks by myself.
Oh, and I was very interested in flying perk planes up to the very end... :devil
That doesn't mean a specific stance of mine on this wish, I'm personally totally indifferent to it.

Lusche, I think he is just presenting a precedence that occurs within a section of the players. I too am in this situation, as well are most of my squad mates, too many perks (of one kind) to use.

Oh, I know he is. But I just want to point out that this is just a subset of the AH demography and how much such change to the perk distribution methods may impact the 'common pilot'.
For the majority of players, 75 perks ain't trivial and they have good use for it.

I dunno, but maybe there is an alternative that may make everyone happy: How about award much more perk points based on the usage of perk vehicles? So, if there are a lot of perk fighters being used, the winners get more tank and bomber perks points.
I would be glad to use a tiger 2 or something without having to grind tank points.

So which is it? You have perks to burn, or you dont?
I dont think the issue of people swapping sides to get the perk points is all that big a deal. If people do it, they only do it once because they learn they dont get the perks unless they have been on that team for 12 hours.
As for earning oodles of perks per flight, only the top players do that. Like Lusche said, earning perks for the average and the many below average players perks are hard to come by. I know a certain pony pilot who is very good at killing in his pony and lands lots of kills all the time. He rarely has perks enough for a 262, but that is because he is almost always in his pony and doesnt get a very good perk multiplier.

Don't be a smarty pants, I think you can understand my situation from what has been said.

I agree with this post. Vraciu should no longer get perks for map wins.

From my experience, the best way to earn perks is with a mid level ride and a perk point bonus over 1.00. Planes like the G-14, 205, F4U-1, Ki-61, Mossie, 38G and D11 are capable fighters that can earn boku perks.

The team jumpers are jumping to hurry in a new map.

For you guys with 10K+ perk points, what do you care? For those with out many perk points it provides an award for a team effort, and provides them with the means to try a different aircraft or GV. :airplane:

It's a game play incentive to reset the map and win the war. It shouldn't be removed.

There's a certain ENY30 plane that is by far the best harvesting fighter - and no, it is not mossie VI. It is a forgotten fighter due to its younger brother.
The issue of country hoppers before reset is a total non-issue. True, some players need perks more than others, but they are few. This is a vetrans game (unfortunately) with very few new players. Also, a very large fraction of the population are in squadrons and will not jump countries for a few perks and end up separated from their squadies.
Those that really want to earn perks are best served by moving to the LEAST populated country and fly that ENY30 plane, or some other ENY>=25.

so V-man still thinks that if you take away perk bonus for winning the war, people would still bust their butts to win said war, if you take away the perks, I don't think so.
next V-man should be Deperked for every negative post he makes anywhere on the boards

that would either be the C-202/C-205 and or 109-E4 and 109-F4
if you switch to the side that looks like its going to win if I'm not mistakin and I'm sure I'm not you only have to be on 30-to 60 minutes to receive perks. have had squaddies log on just in time to receive win perks..
I suspect V's complaint is self serving-bish win more maps than anyone else-Knights 2nd.. but when people switches to Bish it hurts the eny so bad he can't take up his favorite ride..
and that's why he complains.
he's such a HTC basher I don't know why he even still plays here..
IF I HAVE BROKEN ANY RULES HERE I apologize. Please don't ban me..
I think system should stay as is..
and if HTC does go to Steam new players will need an incentive to Work yes it's work to win a map.
But we NEED MORE MAPS HiTech-Skuzzy-Waffle with purest sincerity PLEASE.
Bullocks.
Winning is the only thing, perks be darned.
You win the map to win. If you don't play to win then you are a loser. Simple as that.
I play the game to have fun-map wins and win points are a perk.
if V-man were to quit griping and complaining so much he might have some fun as well.

Winning the war is incentive enough.

I don't use perks so take them away all you want. Fine with me. I don't fly perked rides.
The incentive to win the war is the desire to win. Period.
Oh, and your theory is completely wrong. I'm a Rook.

This was not a personal attack. I was speaking figuratively, not to Ack in particular. It was a philosophical statement not an insult.
Instead of saying "If you" I should have said "If one" or "If a person."
So...
If a person doesn't play to win they're a "loser" not a "winner". Or maybe just a "participant". It's just a poorly worded observational statement. No personal attack was intended.
My apologies if Ack-Ack thought I was speaking about him. I was not.

If I have fun, I win.
-
will do lusche- my apologies to everyone.
it's just V-man is always complaining about what is wrong with the game, that is driving people away-killing the perkies is not a not a good idea.

Perks just happen through playing of the sim.............but far fewer perks are earned if all your missions are a late war monster picking and vulching.
Mix it up a bit........the I16 is a pretty fun, well armed, and capable plane.
Maybe this below will help the people complaining "they're switching sides for perks!!."
Jumping to the winning side earns you zero perks

I got 58.47 perk points for bombing a cv with the Boston3 this morning.and 3.75 for almost evety sup sortie. A hi ENY plane, Learn to utilize the lower end of the spectrum, P47D11, F4UI, Yaks, Zekes ec and work in pairs. I don't like the turncoats , but not because of ENY. I do think lack of perk points for the very new players can cause some discouragement Maybe new customers could get some free when They subscribe. The Experten earn more points and that gives Them another distinct advantage over the beginner and novice, which could be a factor in some not sticking around long but if players could buy a limited amount per month , say 100 to 150 per . That may help even the playing field, limit the turncoats and put a little more flow into the pockets of the hardworking folks at Hitech. It would effect some of the achievements, but the absence of the Early and Mid War arenas do that with some too. See yah at 41,000 feet or lower sometimes.

Congrats think what you can do with a Boston when you use it better.

Although only way to get 19k damage in Bostons is to do a milk run and drop on town centers...

I really do no not care about the perks but I sure get a rush when we win the map. I equally enjoy stopping a country from winning a map or a single base for that matter.
-
Plus when the map changes, there's always great WWI arena action, and the new map sees great fights for the first little while as there's only 1 or 2 fights happening.

so then why do you even care that others have them and use them? is it because you only fly a pony and want the advantage of not having anything faster than you so you can run away?
