The current F4F and FM2 are old AH1 models. The new models will have advanced features such as round cowling and a cockpit with control stick and rudder pedals (also animated).

Nice job on the video. Gear retraction sequence is wicked cool. Can't wait to see 'em and fly 'em!

Its funny but for a guy who had no interest in the early and mid war arenas when we had them I'd love to see them back and populated now because they garunteed you great match ups. Damn! I should have been in those arena's when we had them.
The Wild cat is a fun, fun airplane. I used to sit there for hours looking at one at an airport. When you actually see one in real life you can hardly believe how tough the darn things were made.

FM2 was a blast to fly in Mid War!

They maybe have gotten more popular with a very small map. No one wants to fly 25 miles in a 109e with 3 players on.
This video actually looks better than the one used for steam.
Glad they are getting updated. These are challenging but very fun planes to fly.

Yeah, this video is pretty good.

LOL Tell that to Butch Ohare. They moved this exhibit to a spot in Terminal 2 that had chairs so I would always take my breaks there and sit there with my coffee ogling it.

That was vs A6M-2/3 I think. Lunatic mentioned the 5.

Seems like a good time to add the F4F-3 as well.....

Yeah he shot down 5 Bettys.
Interesting story, Butch's Dad was mobbed up in Chicago. He was a front man for the outfit and was on paper as an owner of a race track. The story goes Al Capone got Butch his spot at the Naval Academy. Later his old man got into Capone for big money and turned rat on him testifying against him on IRS charges. When Capone was in Alcatraz he finally caught up with Eddie O'hare and on 8 Nov.1939 two of his guys pulled up to O'hare's car while it was stopped at a light on Ogden and Rockwell ave and blew him up with shotguns.
Butch's Dad thus wasn't around for America's involvement in WW2.

Some sources say he only got three.
Alex Vraciu made Betty bombers his number one target after O'Hare's loss. He would practice high side runs at every opportunity.
Completing the circle, just like Butch saved his carrier, Alex later saved his own in similar fashion. Both were named Lexington. The student becomes like the master. :salute

Hopefully, adding the F4F-3 is the reason for the delayed roll out. :)
