Tonight flying 48-45 in TU2's. All normal, tested all guns, maneuvered to line up for bomb drop. Calibrated, and continued to line up on hangars. As soon as player "HH996" gets within 2k of my six I get about an inch long red vertical line on my screen and I am locked out of my defensive guns. As soon as I re-up everything back to normal.
Unfortunately I don't have video, but something seems VERY fishy. I fly a lot of bombers and this has NEVER happened.
Has anyone seen anything like this before or experienced HH996?

Let's just shut this down. A remote player cannot do what you are inferring.
Your description sounds more like the video card memory was overheating.

Didn't have diagnostic monitor running at the time. Will do going forward in the event it happens again.

Greetings Lyme
Have no idea what your issue was but did think it odd at the time that you did not jump to guns as soon as you dropped...think maybe two bombers were left at that point? (going off memory here)
As to anyone having experience with HH996 I think if you talk to some other bomber pilots they will tell you that I usually end up dead long before the last of a flight of bombers do. If you are in bombers I will come after you if I have a decent chance of catching up without trading away ALL energy. I have also been known to be persistent and re-up to chase bombers back home after they have dropped and shot me out of the skies once already. Probably not smart but the adrenaline does get pumping at times. :furious
I do remember that this is just a game however and I am here to have fun. That was our XO's Number One Commandment many years ago on Air Warrior when I flew with the HammerHeads -Have fun! - if he said it once he said it a thousand times. I try to be respectful to other players both friend and foe alike and if you shoot me down in anything approaching a fair fight you can expect a <SALUTE> from me.
Sorry whatever happened to you happened but I can assure you I possess no secret weapon to neutralize gunners on a buff. If I did I would have zapped Havermeyr with it a thousand times by now. :D
Happy Flying

No worries buddy, thanks for responding! It was a weird situation and I posted in the heat of the moment.
Happy hunting, especially against Tradermyer.

Did you have a gunner already? If you have a gunner and he's on your central drone you can't occupy guns. If he jumps to a drone you can.
-
No, just me

So I've been using a monitor for 24 hours straight, including multiple hours of AH game play...
Max CPU temp 48 with an average in the low 30's.
Max GPU temp 51 with an average in the mid 30's.
I have a new rig that 4 months old and haven't had any issues, but i'll take skuzzy's word for it and chalk it up to an anomaly.

Power hit/fluctuation maybe?
The artifact on the screen normally means the GPU has departed the building and is heading to parts unknown.
-
It's likely a damaged file that the program pulls up as certain plane types come into view causing the issue.

For what it's worth I was in a Spit16 at the time of our encounter .
