This is a memory that sticks out the most for me as we get things going again for the 91st..
It was seven years ago, as of last May 24th, we were informed that the Dickweed Heavy Bomber Group's C.O., "Vega", had passed away.
It was Tuesday, June 1st, 2010, DHBG flew their Memorial Flight.
I will never forget the huge participation as we, and a huge number of other squads and individuals paid tribute to a great guy.
<S> Vega.
<S> to our fellow bomber "crews" in the DHBG.

My God, it's been 7 years already?
As we get older, we realize that in a blink, everything can change. Then, in another blink, it's so far behind us. Life is a beautiful, but cruel version of reality.

Another example of this wonderful AH community...showing it's high class. <S>

:salute I can't believe it's already been 7 years.

Sometimes this game brings out the best or the worst in people. Vega was one of those folks who was a measuring stick for how to play with dignity and talent. That spirit is still alive and well in the DHBG from what I can see, so in some ways he's still among their formations even today, he just has no icon.
:salute Vega. Clear skies and good calibrations forever, sir!

WOW, talk about perfect description! It is so very true. On one hand yes,it is a "Cruel version of reality". I believe that our ability to live that life between and around those "Blinks" of reality. Makes time seem to fly by, unlike staring at a clock or dwelling in the past. Its a coping mechanism maybe. Does time really heal wounds, I think so? Even when have it out of our forethoughts, we can be reminded, and does seem to feel less imposing between the "Blinks"

When I was in the JG3-Udet squad led by the late Twodogs5 we use to fly cover for Vega and the Dickweeds, was a great time and he was a great person as he use to come fly with us in the JG3-Udet squad when not leading the Dickweeds. Miss him and Twodogs5. :salute
