Title: D-Day +7 Excellent scenario design
Post by: RufusLeaking on June 24, 2017, 12:14:20 PM
Salute to Redtail7 and AKWarhwk for the excellent scenario design.  :salute

Many ETO scenarios devolve into a cloud of 109s having their way. While I fell victim to such a cloud in Frame 3, the Allies seemed to win this one.

Launch to target close enough to allow some variation to the routes (at least to the task groups) that kept the Allied defenders guessing.

Forward fields close enough to allow survivors to rearm.

A balanced plane set.

Really, one of the best set ups in recent memory.  A great time.

Give em mid/late war allied planes and all the sudden it's the best setup ever...Give em a A8 to defend a field with and I guarantee a rage quit and a post detailing how dumb the setup was... :bhead

I'm sensing a lot of anger from the 109-ers.

From my perspective, it was a balanced scenario.

There are at least two scenarios out there that pit P-40s vs 109s. Historic, yes. Balanced?

The outcome of this one had more suspense.

"One of the best" is not "best setup ever." But, I understand. English is the language of 2/3 of the winners of '45.

I up A-8s in field defense quite often in the MA.  :neener:

The blond knights of Aces High need to lighten up.

You have my support as well AKwarhwk.  I know how much work you put into the design.  You configured the planes to allow limited JABO attacks.  I zipped through the air and watched a number of great fights.  The Aces dueled each other well.  The objectives were timely and the event ran the planned 3 weeks.  Great job!
