It was the first American plane in the United States to have full metal construction, retractable landing gear as well as an enclosed cockpit.

Technically it's a J 9, This individual was originally ordered by the Swedish Air Force but never delivered due to the embargo. 60 Planes where delivered to Sweden and the rest transferred to USAAC as P-35A, most of them where sent to the Philippines, some still with SwAF insignias.
Edit: A bit tired, that's not a J 9/P-35 but a '2PA', the 2 seat version (with a rear gunner), original Swedish designation B 6, only two of 52 ordered reached Sweden, the rest where transferred to USAAC as AT-12.

The B 6 was intended to be used as a dive bomber.

I have no idea.
Edit: It seems that its the uploader of the video that doesn't know the difference, the Planes of fame Air Museum clearly says its an AT-12.
