Been gone a while and have to update AH3.. however when I click on YES to download the update, it flashes the download screen bar but then it goes away and brings me back to the main menu. I tried disabling the firewall, but that doesn't make a difference... any ideas?

Your version may be too old to update. Try the full download.

Only been gone a month. Running V3.0 right now. Seems odd. I've definitely gone longer w/ the autoupdate function still functional.
Update... tried updating my laptop (also 3.0). Same thing happened.

I had to reinstall the game. I was simply trying to avoid having to do so and wondering what might be preventing the auto-update function from working, since it was happening to 2 of my computers.

same problem, cant go from 3.01 patch 2 to current. I just downloaded the new version of the game and installed it, it kept all my settings.

Well nice of you to say so Fugi.....but I had to spend some time in Asia for Thai New Year, visit Komodo Dragons and Sea Kraits etc.....and the scuba diving in Indonesia is not only affordable, but just flipping awesome, but I am enjoying being back!

Same problem, cant go from 3.01 patch 2 to current. I just downloading the new version via my mobile connections ...1.5 Gb :furious

For anyone not getting the update, I need your IP address, if it is not the same as the one you use to post with. PM me your public IP address if it is different.
If you do not know your public IP address, simply go to Google and type "what is my ip?" It will show you your public IP address. Do not post it, just PM that information to me.
Did anyone try running Ping Plotter to the server (downloads.hitechcreations.com)?

I had a problem last week updating, same symptoms. Downloaded the full install, so can't tell you if it is fixed, if it was just too old, or if there is still a problem. Was probably 2 weeks since I last updated.
IP should be same as my post.

Nothing wrong with the IP address. The things is, if you can download it from the WEB page link and not update in the game, then something else is going on as they files are all on the same server.
I need to know the exact date so I can check the logs on the server to find out what happened.

I believe it was the 8th, since I tried to update after seeing the first post in this thread, but I can't swear to it.

Have you tried disabling it? We know Avast is one of the ones which continually interferes with the game. It may not be the culprit today, or it might be, but one thing is certain, it will eventually be a problem. You can stamp that in stone.

It does indeed appear to be Avast causing the problem. Other anti-xxxx program who depend on definitions could be causing the issue as well.
We have confirmation Kaspersky is also causing the problem.

Just started to play after a month or so. The "your version is out of date" window shows and asks if I want to update. I click yes. It flashes & quickly disappears but nothing happens.
Help please.

Download the full version and install it on top of the old one.

If you are running Avast Skuzzy thinks that may be causing the issue. If not, I guess its something else but down loading the game and installing it over your should do the trick.

Ok, I did a reinstall over old. Now it says "that account is deleted" ???
Been flying here since 1999...not sure about this, it is a tragedy. No evidence of non-payment of sub either.

We have confirmation that both Avast and Kaspersky are causing the problem.

On our family pc in living room AH was at Version 3.01 Patch 0.
Clicked online arenas, it asked do I want to update.
Clicked yes and game went back to start menu with no action taken. Tried this several times.
Dowloaded full version installed over top game works fine online now.

Hi Skuzzy, I'm running ESET NOD32 antivirus on all our PCs. AH is installed on E: drive.

That is interesting. I am not aware of ESET ever having an issue allowing game updates.
We cannot duplicate this error. And looking through the logs, far too many have updated successfully for it to be a general bug.
I need to know what installed game version everyone has who has not been able to update.

Only tried to update with DX9 version. Never thought to try DX11 to see if it made a difference before doing full install.

I have installed some monitoring tools and made a change to see if it will get around the programs interfering with the download.

Fyi i was using the standard mocrosoft antivirus.
New updates have also installed just fine.
