I wish I may, I wish I might, have this wish, I wish tonight. The Fiat G55

+eleventy billion :aok
The G.55 would be a sure-fire, competitive plane and not a hangar queen.

Yep that would be a very cool one! We don't have enough Italian stallions :airplane:

You forget that who wrote that little poem was killed immediately after when he discovered that the star he was wishing on was actually a piece of space junk that killed him upon impact.

No no no, it was a frozen chunk of fecal matter that twas found upon the flattened fool's face.
This has been wished for several times, I am not a buff on the historical stats of this bird but If it meets all the criteria it has to make its way in soon or later.

300 been build vs 34k 109's but it was a late war model and the 109 has been in production for the entire war.

There weren't 300 in ANR service. The plan was to produce 500 G.55 aircraft (300 G.55/I and 200 G.55/II) but by the time of the armistice with the Allies, only 148 were delivered to the ANR. At of that number, a sizable portion were taken by the Luftwaffe, so the actual number in ANR inventory was a lot less.

Love it! We need more competitive planes!

I think the F4U-4 did not arrive in the Pacific until 4 months of end of war in '45. How much use it saw I am not sure. Only 200 C model Corsairs were built. The La 7 was another late, late war bird. The Fact the G55 saw action is enough to warrant it in the game. ( I am the one that keeps wishing for the G55 )

Shilo same points can be made with the The cannon equipped 51 and several other birds.
