Title: The Wichita Lineman has passed
Post by: Copprhed on August 08, 2017, 03:59:51 PM
He was known as a country musician, but Glen Campbell had real guitar chops. He passed today at 81 from Alzheimers. Rest in Peace.

I'm old enough to sort of remember watching his TV show.  Great voice, great guitar player, so many great hits.

I lived in Wichita and my father was a lineman when that song came out.

My very first, favorite song..."Rhine Stone Cowboy". According to the Parents. I vaguely remember that time. Also remember (a bit more clear) my Dad and my best friends Dad pulling out of the parking lot of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Knoxville, Tn one going left/one going right while blasting the good ole Dueling Banjos on 8 track :x Oh, and both driving Smokey and The Bandit edition Trans Ams  :rock
