Title: Squad logo next to name.
Post by: AAIK on August 09, 2017, 06:21:00 PM
It would be cool if the squad logo was included in the text buffer when someone lands.

"x landed y kills from z (logo goes here)"

Text buffer kills landed message already identify the squadron you're in. Logos added would just be code clutter. ;)

Instead of simply "you shot down [handle]" and "[handle] shot you down", I wish they would extend it to "you shot down a [plane] flown by [handle]" and "a [plane] flown by [handle] shot you down".

Interesting idea, but I think its actually not workable for a couple of reasons:

1) Its a text buffer.  I don't think it would a simple change to support showing images within the text buffer.

2) the images would have to be made so small to fit within the height of one line of text that there wouldn't be very much detail.

Maybe the player’s local AH s/w could display (player option) a locally stored squad logo on the screen (to go with the kill message) when the message is sent from the server.

Adding a Rook,Bish,Knight symbol would be a nice addition to the kill messages.
