Title: Checking scores
Post by: haggerty on August 15, 2017, 04:56:17 AM
Lately the scores page is taking awhile to look up my scores, then comes back saying I need to wait a few seconds before trying that on first attempts.  Usually it works after 4 or 5 tries (with the appropriate waits between attempts).  Getting a score DDos from the lifetime score program that was posted?

Also, it would be cool if melee was the default in the drop downs instead of WW1.

We had to enable the timer again, on scores, to prevent DDoS attacks from all the people who have decide to look up all their scores for their entire time here.

I'll look into defaulting the arena choice.

I'm familiar with the timer between checks but this is happening on initial searches.  It thinks for 5-10 seconds or so and then spits the timer page.  When it works the scores come up instantly though.  It could be isolated to my work computer for whatever reason, I cant remember if it was doing it at home.

Hmmmm.  It is possible, under certain circumstances, but those should be very rare.  I'll check, when I get into the office.

Verified same thing is happening at home.  Almost as if the browser is attempting again if it doesnt get a response right away and triggers the timer warning?

I see what happened.  I believe I have it corrected now.
