Title: The Eclipse in the MA
Post by: BBQsam on August 18, 2017, 03:21:41 PM
I see the moon is getting very close to the sun, it's becoming a thin crescent.  Will there be an eclipse in the MA on Monday?  What time?

If there indeed is, I'm sure there will be some that will complain about it getting dark.

Eclipse isn't modelled right!

I'm surprised there isn't a complaint about it already. :P

The moon hit the sun!  Collision model in this game is so stupid.

Eclipse isn't modelled right!

And that would be an accurate observation.  We do not appear to have it modeled.

And only the moon went down!  Must be because the moon's got a faster computer...

It's the Sun's fault because it was moving faster and came up on the moon's 6.

Skuzzy  then maybe you or Hitech could change the entire MA color to everything MIDNIGHT BLUE for 2 minutes, then we could have Great MA Eclipse!
Would be fun, couldnt see anything.
I did that once creating a custom arena, was playing with the colors, turn all colors to black, couldnt see anything to turn colors back on, had to log out to fix it, was funny.

I believe all is  modeled correctly, issue may be with the accelerated clock.

You could test off line by setting the date to Monday. Not position will normally be our office unless some one set it differently in the terrain.

I did that and set the longitude and latitude (Options->Arena Setup->Environment->Arena Settings, under the "Time" tab I used N. Platte Nebraska coordinates 41.1403 latitude and -100.7601 longitude) and date (.date 08 21 2017) and time (.time 12 55 0).  It was normal lighting.
'
Unless I goofed on the latitude and longitude.  Someone else give it a go and see.  I have been known to be cardinally challenged.  You can do it offline.
