Title: helping new players
Post by: Soulyss on August 27, 2017, 04:06:15 PM
I wanted to toss my hat in the ring and say that I'm happy to pitch in and help some of the new players coming in.  I've been away from the game for the past few years but should be able to help folks get the basics down.

Toss my a PM either here through the message board or in game with the "page" command (if I'm online/in game).

To page someone just open up the radio/text window with "/" and type in ".p <playerID> message"

For example:  .p Soulyss hello

There's a lot to discover and digest here in Aces High land but it can be a very rewarding experience.

<S>!

suggest tuning into vox 101 on whatever chess piece you reside.   As it's the default channel they have to listen!

This worked well for me after trying to help on the chat and failing. I even gave a few guys a short ride along.

Was helping a few new guys last night. They are young an love The game. Couldn't believe it was "free" on steam. I told them there's a subscription after the trial. They won't be playing after 2 weeks it seems :(

I hope you told them the free arenas were still available after the trial and they can fly the same maps with their friends in custom arenas for free.

I did. But he and his buddy like the MA. The free arenas are rarely populated. If they are it's no more than 5 whereas the MA has 100-200

Hopefully that changes in two weeks when the free trials start to run out.   And it's still just 50 cents a day to play with the crowd. That's not even coffee money.

I know I understand that. 15$ a month isn't anything. But a lot of people (young) aren't used to that at all.

They do not understand they are not just paying for one game.  They are paying for a lifetime of updates.
