Having a stand out icon color different from other friendlies, in my opinion, would highlight "new" players such that veteran players would be able to easily identify them, and in my opinion, help them out faster.
See an orange icon guy lawndarting over and over trying to attack a GV? Get on vox and ask if they want some help....
See an orange icon guy in the sky, ask if they want to wing up?
I think the icon should only show to friendlies, so that red guys can't focus on them, only friendlies. I dunno, so far, new players have been pretty forthcoming with questions, etc, but it's always nice to have someone ask you if you need help. After all, playing with other cartoon pilots is what makes this game fun!

Maybe they should have some type of marker by their Icon showing they are a two weeker. when they subscribe it could be removed.

Not hard to figure out who is new and who is "new" :noid

50/50.... Well it could be worse I suppose.. :rofl.

I don't think there should be an icon color that indicates a player on their two week trial. All that does is single them out as a target.

In the air, certainly, but maybe something on the text side of things. Every NEW player gets a "?" in front and in back of there name like the "stars" we earn. After the two week trial is over they "earn" the removal of the tag.
This way they are not ganged up on.... any more than normally :) because they are not singled out in the air, but it is easy to spot them on the roster and maybe lend a hand.

He's not asking for the enemy to see this icon, just friendlies, if I'm reading it correctly.

If you make it a check box that will change the Icon color or add a symbol to the player name. Set it to be seen only by your country and let newbies and veteran players turn it on if they want help. A problem with something like this could be hurt feelings and irate rants on country or ch200 about how unhelpful the community or whomever that player thinks is on the hook for helping him. May be why Hitech has never introduced the ability to make your Icon notify the need for game help. He gave us Ch6 for precisely this purpose.

It should show up "red" for bad guys, and a different color for country. Then you know the guy next to you could use help... But if I'm shooting red guys he is all the same as any other.

Great idea, when they're on the ground it's a special colour. Then teammates have the opportunity to help.

Yeah, just some way your ALLIES can tell if you're a new player (two week trial), the "?" symbol beside a name isn't a bad idea either. Just something to promote FRIENDLY assistance.
Just an observation from the MA. Seen more than a few green GV's cruising friendly fields shooting at our heroic (insert country here) brothers/sisters...
Make it an option to disable it for sure, but enabled by default for new players would be helpful I think. :salute

How about change the guys color in the player roster as well? That way if you put up a mission or something you can make it a point of inviting new guys along since you can see them in the roster.

-1 just makes it easier to club the seals, it's no different than hunting a certain player. you want new players to quit this would do it. making it easy to id a new player makes it easy to kill said new player.
maybe I miss understood.
if you look at the roster you can almost tell who a new player is lack of stars, very high or no score, an unrecognized name.
I don't think we need this.
