Flew by, not through my fire.

You don't see the ping on the friendly since you shot yourself I believe.  But you definitely hit
 him/yourself.

At no point on my screen does he come low enough to run into my bullets, I slowed it down to 0.25 speed and you can reference the terrain in the background of the shots.  I think its just a case of lag and he probably saw my rounds hit him on his screen and it counted it towards me similar to collisions, but in reverse :(

I know that your bullet impacts are 100% controlled on your computer. Lag from someone else's front end has no effect on whether you score hits. Also, not every round is a tracer round.

Me thinks of splash damage...

HTC could tell from the .ahf film  :)

I know that dirty-apes don't have as much convergence spread as fighters with wing mounted guns but ..... what is your convergence setting? The friendly appeared to fly close enough to the stream (at a position closer to you than your target) to possibly get tagged.

haggerty, consider running the film replay at .1 speed, jump into friendly plane (Double click on his name in the lower right), then look at his plane from external view and see if your rounds are shown impacting him.

PS  They aren't particle beam generators, and sometimes 'stuff' happens.

Best I've got for ya.

P38J variance - 500 yds - conv mg 500/conv can 500

Your aircraft is also prone to buffeting while firing. I suspect my airspeed was slower than yours, never-the-less, there is variance in the stream.

When you consider dispersion remember not every round is a tracer.
