Icons were set to 1.5. Kinda would've been cool to know that up front.
-
Before you brought it up in text, I gave it no thought. Then I realized ( from what I saw anyways ) friendly was set to 3k, but enemy was 1.5
Quite the :headscratch:
-
We noticed it as well and wondered as to why it was set that way. We saw some p38s at high alt early in the frame, I had icon at 3k. I assumed it was set to that. When we got to the deck late in the frame it was 1.5
-
I mentioned it to DH in the arena, but he claimed it was set to 3.0. I figure it has something to do with alt or the clouds in the area.
-
There is an arena setting for distance multiplier based on altitude. Usually, it's set to 0.5 at some low altitude. This means that under a certain height, the icon range is cut in half. It should be set the same as it is in the melee arena.
-
I had no clue such a setting even existed, or was used in FSO. Just never noticed it before I guess. Being as it's there, and does get used, maybe knowing what alt it is set at might be worthwhile info.
Thanks Dot for the explaination
:salute

I think the arena settings were inherited from The Hardest Day that was played August 19th. There, the icons where set to 6k above a certain altitude and 3k (half) below.

This should not be the case. FSO is in SEA 1, whilst Scenarios are in SEA2.

Correct. Also, it doesn't list the setting being used in the event write-up.
-
I know for a fact the claims are correct because we did not see those P-40's until 1.5k.

Yep, I noticed it too. We had enemy JU88s on the deck, you could tell they were low formations, but the icons seemed to appear later and disappear quicker. I ended up colliding with a trio, It was my first FSO using Occulus.
