Title: A different color tracer
Post by: RODBUSTR on September 29, 2017, 04:55:08 PM
When so many wirbs of Akak are firing It can be difficult to know which tracers are mine.  maybe a diffent tracer color tracer from the player's perspective. or a customizable one.

Truthfully I think I'd rather lose the tracer so the fighter jockeys don't see what is coming at them until the hits start.

I like the idea of different colored tracers, especially for airplanes.

1. - When your rounds are hitting something you see sprites versus the other guys hitting it.
2. - You will only be hitting something inside a small sight window from a wirble that you will know it when you see sprites and your tracers to help you lead if that is your method. The real effective range in the game is about 1200yds, past that, most players cannot judge the lead and elevation.

You can test all of this by creating a custom arena from the "Player" tab. Choose the arena called gunnery. Once it downloads, exit out of it and use it offline. From A1 spawn your wirbel NE up onto the mesa over the field. The drones will fly withing 800 of your position, and you can use the lead computing gunsight to help you see how to aim. And the gunsight reticle I built for the wirbel works with the LCG green cross.

Be nice if we got historical tracer colors.  :)

In vehicles you do.

Those are very special tracers. Someone assembled the shells incorrectly, putting the tracer part to the front not the rear, so only others can see them. Intentional or a bug?

A Gver in another post mentioned changing your textures to 1024 and it would improve seeing your tracers and hit sprites. Played last night, and I saw much more of my tracers and hit sprites along with enemy vehicles.

it may have been me, I changed my max texture size to 1024 now I can see my tracers and hit sprites easily and see the enemy warble/osti tracers coming at me or another plane.
I also read somebody's text on tracers and setting to 1024.

I had wished for different color tracers for the fleet's 5in guns but it was shot down.

don't use tracers for a few months - then switch back if you prefer, then you wont even need to know who's-who  ;)
