I've been trying for a long time to have the privilege of flying in a scenario with Snailman. :aok

I honestly don't understand why scenarios aren't your flavor, Snail. The amount of patience I've seen you display in the MA, I would've thought you'd be all over them.

That's a different kind of patience.
Actually, in some way it's no patience at all. When you see me, seemingly patiently, prowling the MA skies at high altitude looking for bombers.... I'm actually AFK.
The vast majority of my AH flight time the game is minimized. I browse the net, write message, watch films, draw, make music... simply anything. Even when, to stay with the example, the strat runner is in icon range 5k ahead - If I estimate it takes me longer than a minute to get in range, I minimize the game again to do anything, coming back like every 10 seconds to check the situation. It's difficult for me to focus on anything that's not immediately captivating or rewarding.
In Scenarios, you are in uniform. You a part of a team, you must keep an eye on the coms, you must follow other people's orders (the horror!*). You must fly in formation. You can't simply just do your own thing.
For someone like me, that's hard work. :joystick:

Ah. That explains a lot. I too am generally on my phone on climbout and cruising as well.
It's generally not too bad. We'll try to keep our comms simple. "Snail! Kill!" ;)

Is it even possible for Snail to actually focus long enough for a scenario??? :uhoh
Whoever has Snails' leash will need to know that they cannot fly faster than cruise settings and will need to make very gentle turns so wingman autopilot can keep up. Just hope he tabbed back in when it hits the fan, or at the very least use him as bait. :P
Now, what color leash will be used??? THAT is the real question here! :neener:

The Western European vorpal racing snail is a deadly predator. It can reach a speed of 40 mph in short sprints and has been known, when sufficiently hungry (such as out of McVitie's), to take down black bears.

Traditionally my performance in the scenarios has been subpar. My grandiose successes in the MA have been a result of...umm...emm... 'clever flying' and carefully selecting my engagements.
In scenarios one has to stay and fight. Which usually means a quick death for me :ahand
I'll be looking forward to 40 minutes of formation flying :airplane:, 20 seconds of combat :joystick: and writing angry forum posts in the remaining time of the session :furious

I saw Snailman tonight up in his Ki-84. He was killing everything in sight, owning the place. People were begging him to leave even one plane for the rest of us, but he was having none of it in his killing frenzy.

But your world actually consists of killing fighters left and right :old:
The things I killed in my Ki-84 yesterday while Brooke was on:
- A set of strat raiding B-17s on the deck. Only one I actually shot down, one was a turning proxy, the other finished off by ack. Had to limp home with a sputtering engine
- One set B-17s and another set of B-25C on two different occasions. Both were obviously flown by new players who never shot at me and flew through town acks at 6k. Only two legit kills, there rest were town ack proxies.
- Two T-34 and two m4(75). Bombed them.
- Finally ONE fighter. A P-39Q.
When fighters actually started to arrive in force, I switched to the Me 262.
"Owning the place" my %&& :furious

My bombardier/chin gunner was able to send Snail's Jug smoking back to his ground crew tonight. ;)

Hope all go's well and you have fun Snail. And I really hope you have a better time of it than I did in the one and only event I ever flew in back in AH1 days. We had just got our KI-67's to 20k or so and turned toward target when, POOF no power. So I curse the luck of having a power outage just then, but soon realize that the kitchen, where I had the comp setup was the only room that didn't have power... My young ones, probably around 4 to 6 at the time decided it would be fun to climb up, open the breaker panel and shut off that 1 breaker.
So be careful that you don't have enemy infiltrators in your house during your flight. <S>
