I have an X52 and I'm quite happy with it. I wish the spring in the Joystick had a little more resistance, but I like it.
Someone will chime in with hands-n experience with the HOTAS you are referring too.

Unfortunately, with the x55, if you google "x55 throttle wiring" you'll see what the problem with them is.
I really want to like that stick, my pre Madcatz X52's been awesome to me. The X55's just not recommendable IMO. I wonder if Logitech will ever fix it since they bought them.
I'm not sure what stick I'd get these days. Warthog looks decent but it's a ton of money.

I have had a number of sticks some of which they dont make any more.
I had the CH products fighter stick. First as the gameport version for 8 years and then as the USB version for ten years. Only issue was the hat switch getting worn out. The new version however seem to have become junk right out of the box. When I got tired of fixing the hat switch I looked into some other stick.
The next stick I bought was the Saitek X55 Rhino (https://www.amazon.com/Saitek-Flight-Rhino-Throttle-System/dp/B00HHAIY72) (throttle and stick combo). This one lasted just over a year :( Again, hat switch issues. I really liked this stick. It was smooth and the tension of the spring on the stick is adjustable so it was easy to get comfortable. Lots of buttons and switches.
The next stick and the one I am still using is the Thrustmaster T.16000M (https://www.amazon.com/Guillemot-Thrustmaster-T-16000M-Fcs-Joystick-Pc/dp/B01H6KXGEI/ref=dp_ob_title_ce?dpID=41Lhhq3Eg8L&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=detail). Very smooth control, but not enough buttons for me. My brother in law has the older version of this stick (the one with the green light instead of the yellow) and has had it for years playing AH so I think the longevity of the stick should be pretty good.
I still use my old CH pedals going on 15 years now and have only had one pot go bad in all that time. Switched back to my CH throttle to use with the T.16000M as the button layout gives me better options with the T.16000M having so few buttons.
The issue I have with switchs is the post of the hat switch that actually hits the buttons wears out, gets a flat spot after being used so many times. My plan is to make an aluminum post and epoxy it into the hat and see how long that lasts. While I do miss the old CH stick the X55 has much better control, but only a little better than the T.16000M. So until I get the new post installed Im ok with the T.16000M...... but only for now :D

By the way if you spend £800 on a joystick your usually an tool in game :)

If they changed the logo I'd call that a Logitech! The ergonomics look very good. Hopefully they're built to last at least a year of moderate use.
-
I doubt that would be any better than the t.flight hotas I'm using now? I'm looking at the x52 now

X52 joystick is kak
You will need a mod on the Hall effects axis and a usb powered hub for the fairy lights.
If your in the UK I have x52 throttle if you want it for nothing.
Check out eBay for a sidewinder apparently they are very good
I have some rudder pedals as well in attic if your interested
I am awesome as well :)

For what I've used the t.flight hotas is about the same quality as a Logi Wingman Extreme3D which looks pretty much the same as the Trust in question. However, the price is only half of the t.flight. That makes it a good choice for a two-weeker trying to decide whether AH is worth his money or not.

Plugged it in it maps staight away and the spring is very strong and it centers well :)
£20 if it lasts a year you cannot complain :)
Its a heavy joystick must have pieces of narrzzie gold in it :rofl
I will drag the rudder pedals and x52 throttle out of the attic Sub :)

you will have to build up your arm muscles if that centre spring is stiff. :uhoh
-
When you get married Mrs Bruv will sell all your gear and buy some scatter cushions :)
Congrats by the way :)

My favorite stick if you get pedals is ch products.
My favorite stick without pedals and best stick for the money is thrustmaster t.16000m

You can also run a CH stick without pedals if you go with the new TM TWCS throttle, it has a rudder bar that works very well from the test I did with it, more accurate than the old Saitek x36/x45 rudder bar, but using the same idea.
I agree, especially for this game, my personal pref is still a CH stick. I've ordered the Viripl T50 stick this week, and have pre ordered the new VKB Gunfighter as well, so we'll see, but I still prefer the CH over the Warthog, Cougar, and Saitek sticks for AH still too.

My £20 joystick is unusually good :old:
