Title: P-51D Mustang Pilot Files ???
Post by: Vraciu on October 14, 2017, 07:15:58 PM
What file controls the face on the P-51D pilot?

I liked Oboe's work so thought I would try to at least give the D Mustang pilot some goggles or something.

I am pretty sure the pilot is not listed as being something skinners can change, but I will check Monday.

Before AH3 we allowed the pilot to be modified.  I'll have to check with HiTech on this.

Quite a while ago I decided to see what I could do about improving the default P-51D pilot.  I thought his headgear looked too much like a 1930's leather football helmet than WWII flying headgear, and I also added more detail to the pilot's face, jacket, and life vest.

After Vraciu took the last P-51D slot, I switched over to working on the '51B and eventually produced a different pilot for each of the 3 '51B skins I was working up.  The pilot of Beantown Banshee even bears a good resemblance to the real pilot, Felix Rogers.  They are all quite a bit more detailed that the original pilot, and I hoped this would be another way to really set my skins apart.

Can I put your pilot in my P-51Ds?

 :x

What files did you modify?   Those are really outstanding.

(Don't lose heart on the D situation.  Orphans will eventually be retired...and at some point the 3D shape will be revamped.)
