I don't use the viewer very often but today I was trying to view a film of a bombing mission. When I choose the "bombsight" view, I do see a view through the bomb sight but it is viewing way behind the plane, similar to looking out the ball turret with the turret rotated to the 6 o'clock position with the barrel depressed most of the way down.
What I'm wondering is, is there a way to review the film to actually see what the bomber sees when passing over the target? I'm not very clear at all on what all the different views do and if I'm just not selecting the right thing, can someone set me straight on what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

You can adjust the views in the film viewer just like you can in the game. They do seem to be a bit wonky, but it can be done.

Also make sure that you mark the check box "use recorded views" , if you want to see what views the person that made the film used (meaning, if the bomber pilot is the person who made the film and did the bombing and/or used the bomb site)
If it is your film you made of a bomber flying near you, you will not be able to use their views...only the views recorded from your FE
Hope this helps

There were 5 or 6 us in bombers hitting a target factory while there were several cons buzzing around us trying to prevent it. Typical 91st mission. I did not record it, one of the other bomber pilots did. If I'm understanding you correctly, the only true bomb sight picture going over the target I can possibly see is from the person who recorded the film... is that right? And to see that, I'll have to select "Use recorded views" and jump into his airplane... correct? Every other bomber, I will NOT be able to see how they dropped nor on what targets.
I'm still tinkering with it trying to learn all the views/controls. Thanks for the help.

Yes, you are correct with the answers to the above questions
Zener, you will need to get a copy of his film, check the "use recorded views" box and you should be able to see him bombing in the F6 view
