I'm wondering if HT could tell which maps had the highest m3 usage and what the M3s were resupping on them. The nerf-the-m3-population's presumption seems to be "those snakey m3s should be fighting like men to save the base instead of crawling around in the weeds like worms to resup the town!" but on some maps a significant percentage of m3 resups were to a damaged strat. That's going to skew the data.

Look at all the active maps, find the percentage of bases within the 20% capture area for a war win compared to the number of strats with a GV spawn into them.
I'd be willing to guess it's less than 1 percent of the number of bases. Now whether they were resupplying town after a capture that might skew it but I think more resupply after captures goes into getting the base back up for offensive operations.
And judging by your post....you dont get

Molybenum has a point Junkyll. I run WAY more M3 supply runs to strats on some maps. Especially Buzzsaw. That map ,recently, has lasted 4 or 5 days. The strats on this particular map stay suppressed almost as soon as the map starts. That would most definitely skew the supply run numbers. We may be new, but we play alot more than some old time players. Just saying, some new players with more time IN GAME, may have a different outlook on gameplay. Your experiences over time is one thing, and must be appreciated. It DOES NOT however mean your experiences trump a current players experiences, it sort of comes of COCKY when you discount others game experiences as less than equal to your own.

No it's not, so on the maps not like buzzsaw...where are you guys running M3 supplies??? Bases.
Yea you have experience and I respect your opinion but when you guys say "its fine how its always been" it's kinda funny because we havent always had town resupply and I'm telling you from experience prior to it...the fights over bases were better. And you see these types of fights at bases where M3s cant resupply town....those are the best fights.
Call me cocky but whos really the one with an ego...the guys who need an out because they are afraid to die against a horde or the guy willing to up against it

Is all the M3 angst only for getting town flags and ack up and ruining an enemy base take ?
What about base resup to repair ords/dar/gunz ? Won't nerf a white flag, but damn helpful for a base defense.
-
This BS has got to stop. The game is fine. It's time for people to let this crap go. Flush it. It's dead.

I might be wrong but the old way did resupply town guns as well as base guns when supplies were dropped on concrete on the base...only thing that wasnt effected was town buildings.

If the game is fine, why is it I have a 358 bomber score without getting in a bomber once but 3ish years ago that number was over 1000?
The numbers show a decent size population is spending a lot of time in M3s instead of in a tank/whirbel/fighter/bomber....COMBAT SIMULATOR NOT TRUCK DRIVING SIMULATOR....no offense to truck drivers.

Well, considering that not more than 4% of all in game sorties in a had been M3 resupply runs it's very unlikely you could note an increased number of 'combat' sorties even if every former resupply run would translate directly into a combat sortie. And M3 resupply sorties are, on average, much shorter than most combat sorties.
A very different matter would be the possibly resulting changes in battle dynamics if the resupply / strat system would experience a change of any kind.

4% is more then enough of the population back into a fight which could turn the balance or prolong an actual fight...heck these days 2-3 players can make all the difference in a fight being good and stale.

You have to look at the big picture and not a hypothetical singular event.
4% more player 'in combat' are just that. You generally won't notice the difference between 40 and 41 players 'in combat' in the arena, and you certainly can't trace it to that single one player in the arena.
What you are looking for is the indirect effect of changing the battle dynamics and not the mere number of players duking it out. 4% is far too small of a number to be really notable. (And, considering the shorter duration of m3 sorties, 4% less M3 would probably end up at 2-3% more people 'in fight', and that only if they just don't log off).
By the way, I also don't see a complete removal of supply coming in any way. So forget quantity. ;)

uhhh hellooooo if get in a bomber and drop some bombs your bomber rank will get better

Umm, he wants his bomber rank to be worse.

Rank is jibberish if your not interested as is ENY :old:
I have no idea what this M3 talk is about :old:
Just log on and fly around for bit :)

Maybe because, at the time of your post, the tour was only five days old. As more people register bomber sorties, that number will go up. For example... today, just a day later, that number is up to 629. (My bomber rank is 629 without having flown a bomber sortie).
Not arguing a numbers decline. Just don't think it's quite what you would make it out to be, using that logic.
-
On the flip side you could take one set of mossie bombers with just the cookie, hit 1 town, and be ranked in the top 50 for the month in bombers.

:aok I have it....Make base capture more like "Player Unknown". Do away with Bombs and actually destroying towns and guns. NOT remove Bombers and JABBO, but just make actual dropping of bombs unnecessary. A side must keep the number of bombers and fighters and Jabbos in "Take ZONE" for 15 minutes too capture. To stop a capture you must keep killing the enemy Bombers and other planes, when one side has advantage for "X" amount of time they win the field/fight. That would get everyone into the "COMBAT" portion of game play :old: OH, I forgot...BISH would always win...THE HORDE complaints would sky rocket :bhead THE game is what it is...I love it...does that mean there are no parts I wish were different? ABSOLUTELY NOT. I deal with it and adjust how I play THE GAME. I dont own it, I am privileged to be able to play this game. I know of NO OTHER game where the Owners/Operators take active role and listen to their players(about some ideas/enhancements to game play and design) :rock I have even MORE RESPECT for them, when these sort of issues/running battles about game facets/mechanics get going. Personally,I would probably go GRADE SCHOOL and kick everyone out of MY Sandbox. So even if I dont love EVERY THING...I feel HONORED that I am allowed to play in this particular Sand Box :rock

Exactly. They way I look at it is for those that dont fly bomber mission their rank is TIED for last place. At the beginning of a tour you could have 3000 guys tied for last and a the total number of subscriptions is 3326. That means there are 3000 guys ranked 326. At the end of the tour it gets to that 1650 rank number for those that dont fly bombing missions, but people still have to remember that there are still players TIED for that rank. So you dont really KNOW what the subscriptions are.
Some people use it as a bench make by comparing the tour totals together. They are figuring that the same average number of players dont fly bomber missions month after month and so you can see the trend of whether subscription numbers are going up, or down. Of course this is all speculation, assumptions, and guess work and nobody has the real numbers other than HTC.

And some people just count all the pilots, tour for tout... :noid

Players that embrace the full spectrum of the game seem to enjoy AH more irregardless of the scoring. Of late, I have seen long time GV'ers in planes and long time plane people in GVs. You know, "Dogs and cats living together . . ." That kind of thing.

You got it the wrong way around. Players either addicted enough or simply caring for their country more than anything else (or a mixture of both) will go through the full spectrum regardless whether they enjoy it or not, including supply runs.

Again you miss the point. Its not about expanding your horizons and trying different things, it's about the use of the M3 and re-supplying towns.
One poster was using rank to try and prove his point on the use of the M3.
