On the computer I use for AH windows 10 keeps locking up during the latest update. It downloads and restarts, the first two restarts are fine but it locks up 17% into the third update. Should I even bother with the updates since the computer is only used for AH?

I had the same problem with a recent update. I persisted (downloaded update several times) and finally got it to take, and thought well I'm finally past the Creator's update. Once the update took my puter was too unstable to run much of anything. So I tested for all kinds of non-Windows issues, like hardware, finally rolled Windows back to pre-creator's update and now the puter is much more stable and working well again.
My puter engineer son spoke with a friend (a couple weeks ago) who works for Microsoft; apparently they were having widespread stability issues with one of the updates. I'm holding off for now, just trying to let antivrus update. Hopefully by the time I update again Microsoft will have things ironed out.

Thanks!

Several people at Microsoft Support have told me on the phone that the Creators Fall Update has major bugs. However their advise of making the connection as metered to prevent it from downloading doesn't work - a feature they weren't aware of!

Yes, many people, at Microsoft, know the latest Creator Update has serious problems, but Microsoft does not appear to be doing anything to prevent the update from being deployed.
I find that disturbing.

Disturbing? I'd call that criminal.

Well, at least they're consistent, it seems it's always ben part of their business model to get things out fast and worry about many of the bugs later......

Their Edge browser is constantly crashing my system. To date it's the only BSOD I have seen for a long, long time.
