Give me a winter wonderland of bare trees, snow, and low clouds / overcast.  There are plenty of nice winter skins that would work wonderfully there.  GVing on the Russian Front anyone?

No clouds, no overcast....when it's 60 below   You don't see many clouds.

Ask Hitech to increase the rest period between weather fronts. I set them all to 10 minutes rest, 60 minutes active. In the MA heavier cloud systems than what I put in play will kill FPS. I had to test all the systems in the cloud editor for FPS issues for everyone because not all PC are equal like not all of us can afford a Ferrari.

Bustr, Why not set them for a 50/50?

I'm still a bit upset, my first AH commercial I ever saw, and subsequent others would show combat over winter terrain.  I've not seen a single snow covered tile in the game since joining.  The closest you get are the gray granite mountain tops.

Bustr, Why not set them for a 50/50?

Because I set them to 60 on 10 off. You want different, open the cloud editor and teach yourself like I did. Open it, point to your favorite terrain, it will open that terrains clip board map, then play with it until you make it work. Save that AWA file in the chconfig directory of your terrain. Give a name not the same as the terrain so you can use the [.sweath file] command to launch it for testing. That is all I did along with hours of testing I reported back on in the terrain editor forum with screen shots and write ups about what I was experiencing. Once you get a weather file to work and you don't kill your FPS......Keep in mind what you build for the MA is for all customers and PC's you have no clue how strong or how weak. So you need to error on the side of weak PC's to not help bankrupt HTC. And there is a good chance Hitech will test you file for FPS issues anyway.

Rules for clouds.

1. - 40 miles spacing on all sides between cloud blocks.
2. - Cirrus layer above normal game play 30k and up.
3. - Do not have cloud blocks touch each other by setting their line of travel into each other.
4. - Have no cloud layers nested one above each other. Only a single cloud layer at all times in any location.
5. - Don't knowingly kill FPS.

Many of the cloud blocks in the menu impact FPS and why you see the types I used on the MA terrains. So have fun and maybe with enough practice you can get a weather file accepted for your favorite terrain.
