Title: Gun site traverse issue
Post by: Chekov on November 21, 2017, 09:10:26 AM
:ahand When in gunner position, moving the mouse to left or right the site no longer continues to traverse in the direction the mouse was moved unless I continue to move the mouse in the direction. Instead the mouse acts only as a cursor. Also the actuator is constantly sounding It worked fine prior to 2 previous updates.

I.E. you move the mouse an inch to the left, the turret rotates some and then stops?

If this is the case, it is working as intended.

So i will be picking my mouse up moving it to to the opposite side of the mouse pad to rotate the gun?

It worked fine and logical before the controls change.

At this point, tanks and guns are unplayable for me.

Ill try and attach a film before work to show why.

Have you adjusted the mouse traverse rate in Options/Perferences/View Options?

P.S. This is how every joy stick user uses the mouse to gun.

When looking through the site and moving the mouse, the view only moves as far as the mouse moves, it does not continue to travel in the direction of mouse movement. Rendering it useless in that view. Can't follow a moving plane in the Osty or wirb or anything. Can"t track a moving object in your site view and it renders the site view useless. I have tried everything I can and cannot attain the same actions from that view as I had before.

can we get this gun traverse issue fixed back to what it was?  I feel like Im slapping my mouse around an awful lot just to turn a turret.  it just feels goofy.

Umm maybe I'm strange but I never use the mouse for anything but the clip board  :O. Stick all the way baby!!    But seriously I didn't really think many stick users would bother using a mouse to gun with. Personal preference I guess.

Why not?  I do.
I fly bombers with a stick, but in the gunners position I use the mouse.

Not saying there is anything wrong with it, it just seems wrong somehow to me when my hand is already on the stick....  Then again may depend on a persons setup, my stick and throttle are mounted to the chair with the mouse up on the desk so it's not all that convenient to use while reaching around the stick.  Oh well to each their own I guess. :)
You may now tune back to your regularly scheduled bug report.  :salute
