I'm going to move AH to the SSD to see how it affects the "pauses". Which files should I save to move to the new install? Settings, skins, maps, any others?

I always backup my settings/stickdef/sights/skins/ah3terr folders.
Optional films/scrshot if you have some you want to save.

If you are referring to the DX11 pauses, it is not going to help. The one we know about, which randomly plagues people, is happening on the video card.

I am running DX9, and it seems that some pauses are related to disk access. Thought I'd give the SSD a try, just for grins.

If you are getting pauses with DX9, it usually means something is firing off in the background causing the pauses/stutters.
Our disk accesses are too small to have any impact in the game, unless your computer is running on the very edge of not being able to run the game at all.
You may mask the problem by moving it to the SSD, but that is all you are doing. It is not addressing the real problem.

popeye, you may want to consider backing up your films folder, if you have films saved.

Well, for whatever reason -- SSD, clean install, or ?? -- the pauses are gone. :D

:aok
Is that on DX11 as well?

Still see pauses with DX11.

Guess we're stuck to DX9 then. I have the same freezes in DX11.
I guess it's easier to blame Windows or Nvidia.

The pauses in DX11, you are referring to, are not related to this.
