Add a float plane to the battle ship for recon purposes. Just a thought.
And allow it to control the guns for both shore bombardment and ship to ship.

I think it would be a wasted effort. Why would someone want to take a minimally armed (if at all), slow plane to search the seas for opposing fleets when it's much easier to up a well-armed, fast ride that can do the job far better and still be used to attack any inbound bombers that might be after the friendly ships?

How about the PBY at ports and allow it to carry troops and supplies!

If there's one thing this game needs, it's more things to do other than fight.

storch at ports is just gamey when they bailout 90% of the time to cover the map room with a pistol.
Because it's WAY less gamey and unrealistic to capture an enemy installation by just gunning the AAA and a few buildings, then have 10 auto-troops that don't run, shoot, or take cover stroll into the facility's command post unopposed! Honestly, as long as you can bail from a plane and defend the map room with a 1911, why not just skip that first step and let people spawn near the map room with an M-1 (so long as a barrack is up) and defend it for real? Then make the enemy troops shoot back. We're 90% there, so why not take it the last 10% and have a true combined-arms simulation?

I have a weakness for this one:
Might be a nice step to take from the new battleship; adding a floatplane, next the A6M2-N Rufe at ports, and eventually bigger seaplanes like the Emily and Short Sunderlund.
Would like to see cool wake effects from the floats/pontoons as they lift off or land.
