off the back. I brought this up a few months ago . thought it was fixed. landed a CHog Today on C86 and got launched off the back,,,,solong 26 more perkpoints and give a proxie kill to whomever.
-
I don't use the tailhook regardless of when landing anything from a F4U to a B29 to a 262 to a ar234 on a CV.
-
try raising the tailhook?

I could be wrong but I seem to remember this issue from my AH2 days. I think it was if you had any throttle on at all while the hook was on the wire it would pop you right off the back as if the wire is over compensating for you trying to move forward.. Again I could be wrong but it might help.

This.
Once stopped on the deck, adding throttle will fling you backwards. Prolly a bug, but pretty easy to avoid. Always raise the hook once stopped.

GeeWhIZ Your answers are absolute genius..... I know that already... I am jus reporting a bug. By the way landing a 234 or b29 on a flat top... So much for the reality portion of Virtual reality or simulator.... You should not be able to do those things. I try to keep My play as close to reality as possible. That is why I try to use the proper technique when playing, including using a tail hook a curved approach when in a hog and trying to hit the 3d wire. Have a blast.

Also as stated, I figured out who to jerry rig the system and not use the arresting gear, but a main reason I posted this was to save others grief. especially those who may be perk poor.

Welllll Excuuuuuse me for trying to be helpful.... Your original post did not include the information that you already know about how this bug is happening.

Thank you for attempting to be helpful.
I may be wrong but I believe you are describing what happens because the thrust you are using is less than the forward motion of the ship, therefore allowing the coding to move you backwards. Only slight throttle does this if I am correct and nailing the throttle will allow you to take off.
I'm sure others will correct me if I am mistaken.
Have a great day Rodbuster :salute

Correct the wind over the deck is pushing you backwards. Opening the throttle removes the chocks that normally hold you to the deck.

I love landing on carriers but my favourite aircraft don't have landing hooks. Always wonder what the speed of the ships are. Once or twice in AH2 I've 'landed' all over the back end of the one which has a crane and a gun I think. Got the impression the boats sped up when they turned?

I think one of the cool things about the coding is the ability to give just a bit of throttle and carefully back up, allowing maximum deck length for takeoff.

Getting slingshotted backwards is the funniest thing in AH (especially when your squaddies [in a squad that takes great pride in CV ops] are onboard, critiquing your trap).
Approach deck straight (no oblique traps) - chop throttle (or kill engine) right before your gear hits the deck - raise hook right after arrest.
It'd be cool if AH would include:
Open canopy on final approach (or on take-off)
Unfold/fold wings on deck
Taxi to elevator and clear the deck
(These aren't critical but it would add immersion to CV ops.) :D

get slingshot off the back is because your hook is down and you tried to throttle up. bring your hook up before you touch the throttle or it will happen
