An engine cowling from a Fw 190A of II.(Sturm)/Jagdgeschwader 4 has been found underterrain on a dispersal area of a former airfield used by JG 4 on late war months. This brings a completely new look on the JG 4 emblem with not yet know red background! Of course, it brings also several new questions...! I am happy to add, that this unique piece of history is now safely in hands of our old friends from the Virtual JG 4! "

That is an awesome find! I may just ask my daughter for help with a reproduction.

And here is a piece of scrap aluminum that it will be put on. The frame is 12 X 17.

I had time to cut the metal today, but I don’t know when I will get around to painting it.
